Eliza Shaddad returns with incandescent new single 'One Last Embrace'
Formidable singer-songwriter Eliza Shaddad returns with her incandescent new single, One Last Embrace out now. Her darkest release yet, One Last Embrace combines elements of alternative rock, indie and grunge to create fuzz-filled sonic soundscapes that are brimming with attitude. Distorted guitar riffs, pulsating drum grooves and impassioned vocals are at the forefront, instantly reminiscent of the likes of PJ Harvey or Veruca Salt. Of the track, Eliza explains, “One Last Embrace is about a burning, swirling, completely irrational, totally overwhelming vortex of desire. That moment when you know something is wrong and over, but you want it all the same.” One Last Embrace is the second single to be released from Eliza’s forthcoming EP, Sept ~ Dec, due for release on 24th January 2020.
Eliza Shaddad shares poignantly nostalgic new single 'Girls'
Confessional singer-songwriter Eliza Shaddad gets poignantly nostalgic on new single Girls, out now via Big Indie Records. An ode to one of Eliza’s oldest friends, Girls is a refreshingly candid take on what it’s like to grow up in an all girls school and the relationships you build. Talking about the track, Eliza elaborates, “it lays bare how scary it was, standing on the sidelines, growing older, watching someone deal with some insanely hard human experiences, unable to find a way to connect with them about it.” The first taste of Shaddad's forthcoming EP - which navigates through multiple forms of withdrawal and isolation and was recorded in a remote bungalow in the wilds of Cornwall - Girls combines chiming dream-pop with shimmering indie-rock sensibilities to create a sound that is both tantalisingly sentimental and assertively modern. Eliza’s soft, breathy vocals reminiscent of the likes of Daughter’s Elena Tonra and Marika Hackman. Girls is taken from Eliza’s new EP, due for release early next year. Listen to Girls on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud and YouTube. Read the full article

I had the pleasure of playing on the same bill with Eliza a years ago at The Garage in Islington. At the time I think she was still finding her real sound and direction (much like myself). But it seems she has found it now. This track is great, go check
