day 3; yellow || relaxation

It’d had been weeks since they’d last been able to get time away together; Diane was always busy with work and Elizabeth always seemed to have important premieres and events that she unfortunately couldn’t take her girlfriend to. (She still was unsure on the reason why she couldn’t take Diane with her, but no one wanted to tell her.)

But at least they had finally got some time together, and it was time they got to spend on the beach! Out in the sun, where Elizabeth always felt the happiest. Or maybe it was being with Diane that made her really happy. Probably both. Their red gingham blanket rested upon the sand underneath them, and they were wrapped in each others arms as they sunbathed together. 

“I couldn’t ask for a better way to relax, it’s been so stressful.” Diane spoke, and Elizabeth hung onto every word.

“I couldn’t either, it’s been so nice spending time with you today.” Elizabeth responded and looked Diane in the eyes, “I couldn’t ask for anything else.” The sun felt warm as it shone upon the both of them, and although it was in Diane’s eyes as she met Elizabeth’s gaze, all Diane could do was bask in the beauty of her girlfriend.

“I really love you,” Elizabeth said it for the first time during their entire relationship, and she giggled as Diane’s face turned beet red in response.

“I love you too!” She sounded so overjoyed, and nothing made Elizabeth happier than when Diane was happy too.
