I found a little grasshopper nymph yesterday and while it was sitting on my hand it kept slowly shifting its body from side to side. (adorable) Any idea why they do this? My googling is turning up very little on their behaviors :(

A lot of bugs do that, and in most cases I’ve seen, it’s a type of camouflage, mimicking the way plants would move in the breeze.
