The MCKINNON’S.
DEFEND
Defend: I’ll write a drabble of my character protecting yours.
"Don’t come any closer, Nar. I’m warning you."
Sirius outstretched his arms so that Ella was at least somewhat covered from the demonic rage that Narcissa has just fallen into. He couldn’t blame her; after hearing a bunch of nosy third years spread yet another rumour about Ella McKinnon once again shacking up with Lucius Malfoy, there was an inevitable bound that she would grow into a fiery rage. “Stop it Siri! Stop defending that dirty blood!" He heard the smallest blonde screech, his body cringing at the highness of her pitch. The boy strongly shook his head in discard, slowly walking backwards so that nothing could get to Ella unless it went through him first. "It’s not even true.. I would never touch Malfoy, let alone go near him ever again.”
Sirius could have turned around and hit Ella across the head, but refrained, knowing that it wouldn’t make any of these situations better. It would have been a much easier task if neither of the girls have opened their mouths, if Narcissa didn’t track down Ella and corner her against the stone wall. Sirius could still feel the running motion in his feet, after he had raced from Defence Against the Dark Arts to reach the two girls before anything serious could occur. He loosely held his wand within his hand in case it was needed to cast a protection charm, knowing that he could never hurt his cousin in any form or way. The boy stared at the youngest Black as their eyes pierced through each other’s souls, reading the reciprocated thoughts as they both softened the tensing muscles inside them and taking a strong stance.
“Fine. But next time, don’t expect me to give up so easily, Siri." Narcissa said, her words spiteful as if they were spilled by a snake’s tongue. Sirius looked after her as she spun on her heel and stomped off, an opening of students letting her through due to the devilish expression that she had across her face. After a short sigh of relief, Sirius turned around to face Ella, placing his hand on her shoulder, "You alright?". The Hufflepuff nodded her head slowly before jumping onto the boy, wrapping her arms around his neck. He smiled, knowing that Ella was safe, that they both were.
AWAY
Away: A drabble (main or AU) about our characters running away.
“What did you do!?”
Sirius ran through the halls of the Dungeons, Ella McKinnon attached to him by the heavy grip had on her arm. “Sirius Black! What in Merlin’s beard have you done?" Ella screamed at him, her voice muffling due to the constant turns around corners and dodging of Slytherin students. Before he answered her, the boy quickly jumped between a set of two stone walls, Ella sliding in behind him. "Siri—" "Shh, Ella." he whispered, as a group of students dressed in green sprinted past them, anger reciprocating from their grunts and voices to the stomps created from their feet.
"They never saw what was coming to them." Was all that he managed to say, only audible enough for the blonde girl to hear. He could feel Ella shake her head, sure that she was most likely rolling her eyes at the same time. "You always drag me into your stupid plans." He smiled at her, nodding his head as a reply.
“Black!" Sirius jumped as he heard his name. The heavy yell made him slightly nervous as he took another hold of Ella’s wrist, pressing a finger to his lips to indicate silence. Lucius Malfoy trudged past the two, the hood of his robe shadowing the top half of his body. Sirius could feel the tension radiate from the Slytherin. He stepped back slowly, dragging Ella along with him, until the two shortly reached the other end of the stoned passage. "Run!" he said as Lucius saw them escape, fire burning in his eyes. They reached a staircase that lead to the main land, quickly making their way up as the Slytherin was hot on their tails. Sirius stopped the incredulous speed that had managed to circulate within his legs before turning around, laughing exploded from his mouth as he captured the sight of Lucius behind them.
“What’s so funny?" Ella asked, as she herself, turned and almost fell due to the giggles that escaped her lips. Lucius’ hood had fallen behind him, exposing his new bright pink locks that surprisingly, made the blueness of his eyes pop. "Geez, mate." Sirius said toward him, "Pink is definitely your colour."
Spectre.
Spectre: My character will be visited by your character's ghost or vice versa.
Droplets of sweat rolled down Sirius' forehead as he tossed and turned within a deep slumber. It had been years since the war that had changed a lifetime, until the day where those that he loved dearest faded away into the afterlife. It had been years since the dreaded nightmares had started, only to leave the boy scared with the lifeless faces of his friends and family every time he closed his eyes. With a sudden jolt, Sirius suddenly sat up, his breathing heavy and ragged due to the terrified rush that was running through his blood. He threw his hand up to his heart, pushing against his chest to feel the rapid pulse as well as covering that scar that was almost cut too deep.
He shook his head vigorously, attempting to remove the image of pale faces and a bright green spark of light. Sirius swore to himself that he would never use the spells of the forbidden, despite the fact that he was brought up to know everything about them. His hands absent-mindedly went straight to his hair, his fingers intertwining in his curly locks, pulling to remove the pain. All that he could remember was draping himself over the deceased body of Marlene McKinnon; giving her one last tender kiss upon her cheek before he closed her lifeless eyes. He had heard his name and turned as Lucius Malfoy struck his wand toward the former Gryffindor, only to hear a faint shriek of "Avada Kedavra" before covering his eyes from the piercing beam of green light. He remembered hearing a drop, a hard crash against the ground, a woman's cry for help as her dying body grew cold. Ella McKinnon laid before him. Ella McKinnon had saved his life, only to have hers leave her forever.
Sirius wanted to hold back the tears forming in his eyes, still thinking that he could hear his true love's sister calling out his name.. to run from the dangers that he was faced against. "Sirius." He thought that the soft tone of Ella's voice was imprinted into his mind, reminding him of his almost death. "Sirius." He once again shook his head and screamed. The high pitched noise shook the furniture that he was perched upon, surely managing to scare anybody or anything that would have been near by. "For Godric's sake, Sirius. Look at me. See me, Sirius." The boy did as he was told and fell speechless at the figure standing before him.
Ella McKinnon didn't look any different to when he saw her last. Her innocent expression still crossing her pale green eyes, contrasting against the loving smile that she had always seemed to carry. He was flabbergasted as he stared up at her. "Ella.. I.." He whispered under his breath as his voice started to shake, "Shh, Sirius. It's all right. You're going to be all right, I promise." Sirius threw out his hand, only to have it sink through her stomach rather than touch the girl's actual physique. It sent shivers up his spine. "I'm sorry that this happened to you, El. I didn't want any of my friends to die for me. I.. I am so sorry." As he spoke, a tear fell from his eye, matching the prior trail of sweat that had already tracked down his face.
Ella smiled faintly, "I am with my family, I couldn't feel more at home. Please don't feel remorseful, there was nothing that you could do." Sirius once again shook his head, yet this time, out of confusion. He opened his mouth to speak, only to have an unknown gasp leave instead of proper vernacular. He wanted to explain the actions that he could have taken that could have saved them both, but the constant creeping on the impossible only took over his thoughts. "Tell Felix that I love him.. that I have always loved him. That our children will grow strong like their father, and that they will one day understand on why I had to leave them behind."
Sirius' cheek grow cold and Ella held her hand against it. The boy could've sworn that she was on the verge of crying, yet she tried to keep a mature hold upon her heart. He closed his eyes softly, feeling himself drift off into a deep sleep. His gaze flew open as Sirius hit the floorboards underneath his bed, their hard texture sure to leave a bruise upon the bone of his shoulder. He was alone within his room, the angelic figure of Ella was nowhere to be seen; but for the first time in three years, Sirius Black had never felt alone once again, for as long as he had lived.
UNBIND ME.
Unbind Me: I’ll write a drabble about your character freeing mine, or the other way around
Narcissa shouldn’t have found it so funny. Really, she should have been mad at her children. But Narcissa would have been lying if she said the sight of Ella Mckinnon strapped to the wall didn’t amuse her a little. Ok, a lot. They had managed to tape over her mouth, so the only sound Ella could make was an angry grumble.
It was what Ella got for offering to babysit.
Trying hard to keep her face stern, even though she desperately wanted to laugh, Narcissa looked down at her children. They were in turn smiling up at her, the very picture of innocence.
“Which one of you did this?”
They all shuffled their feet, not wanting to own up to the crime.
“Well you can all go to your rooms then.”
Leaving Ella still stuck to the wall, helpless, Narcissa herded the four of them out of the room. But as she deposited each one in their room, she slipped them a chocolate frog, making sure to remind them not to tell their father.
A good ten minutes had passed before Narcissa made her way back to the dining room. Ella, of course, had not moved. She just looked more pissed off. After a flick of her wand and a few words, Ella fell loose and tumbled to the ground. Narcissa smiled blankly at her, secretly pleased that Ella had fallen with such a thud.
“I’m sorry. They can get a bit out of hand sometimes.”
Opinions on each Mckinnon?
I always manage to receive un-asked owls. How lovely.
Ransom: I just don't like him in comparison to the other McKinnons. The fact that he doesn't care about his family when all that they do is love him unconditionally.. it makes me feel uneasy, as well as wanting to smack him across the head to knock his senses straight.
Marlene: Everybody knows that she is my favourite person. I adore Mar and everything that she is. She reminds me of myself, but with a kinder and stronger heart, as well as a more optimistic attitude toward everything she crosses. I love her, I really do.
Ella: There is something about Ella that you can't live without. She has the most genuine heart and I have never found anything bad about her. Ella is the type of person that at least everybody should have within their lives.
Ben: The little McKinnon is my honorary younger brother. Although I feel bad that I somewhat care for him more than Reg, Ben has always been the type of guy that I feel responsible and respectful toward. I will protect him with everything that I have and help him with whatever he needs.
