I just reread wake the storm and queen’s gambit and god I wish I had the stamina to write that engagingly and that emotionally for that long. I wanna be you when I grow up*

Aww, thank you! Both Wake and Gambit were actually written in relatively short periods of time, since I was kind of in a post-thesis frenzy at the time, at least for Wake. I think I wrote Wake in about three months, and Gambit in fifteen months, which sounds like a lot, but Backbone (which is only 10K longer than Gambit) took three years.
