talia had a pretty good and regular childhood. her parents had her when they were thirty years old and settled into their lives, and she was an only child all her life. her dad worked a job that often took him out of ellingham, often needing to go to london, vancourver, toronto, nyc, paris, etc. but wasn’t a big executive that made a lot of money, and her mother worked from home, and they belonged to the middle class. therefore, pretty ordinary childhood. she had a good relationship with her parents, they talked about everything openly, and though they did argue from time to time, of course, they had a pretty good lil family.
she did start to party a lot towards her last two years of high school, though, and got pregnant after hooking up with WANTED CONNECTION #06 at a party. talia decided to keep the child, and though she told the other parent that she didn’t necessarily want their financial support, since they were just as young as she was, she did ask them to be part of their child’s life. the rest of talia’s relationship with that person will be determined once someone applies for this connection!
she was seventeen years old when her son, leo, was born, and luckily enough for her, he was born the summer right after she had graduated high school (since high school ends at 17 in québec). she decided not to go to cégep, and to find a job instead, so that she could help pay for all the things she and leo would need. her parents offered to help, and they did help a lot in the beginning, but talia didn’t feel comfortable with that, and now only lets them spoil leo (they are his grandparents after all) and pay for 25% of her rent.
she lives in an half-basement-ish type of apartment with leo, now, which is only a five minutes drive away from talia’s parents’ house. they do have boundaries about when they can visit each other, though, as they want talia to feel like a real adult tm since she literally has a child. also, they respect her privacy, so!
talia currently works as a secretary at the maison des marguerites, aka ellingham’s nursing home, and is well loved by all its residents and their visitors. she’s just???? really agreeable and kind to people, and a good person overall, and it shows.
ALCOHOL, DRUGS & ALZHEIMER TW. can be uptight, though. like, when she partied in high school, she had to get really drunk and/or high to be able to let loose and have fun, otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to. she never had black outs, though, always managing to keep control of herself, as losing control was a big fear of hers after seeing her grandma deal with alzheimer’s.
ALZHEIMER & GRANDPARENTAL DEATH TW. her grandma was probably talia’s favourite person in the world, so it was very difficult to lose her last year. she was the one who had managed to convince the nursing home’s manager to hire talia, before the alzheimer took over. i won’t go into details about the whole alzheimer thing, because my own grandma suffered from it and it makes me a sad sam tm, but i’ll just say that it was very hard for talia in the last two years of her grandmother’s life. it’s why she keeps a picture of her grandma, and a picture of leo, in a lil heart-shaped locket that she wears most of the time.

angelina was born on january 28th of 2000 right here in ellingham. this makes her a nineteen year old aquarius sun, scorpio moon.
she had a very good grasp of her gender identity from very young. she always felt supported at home, so she transitioned pretty young, as well.
while growing up, she was a very quiet, peculiar child. she basically had no friends besides her mother and spent most of her time being way too focused on her ballet and art. her go-to expression was vacantly staring at random people.
with all that being said, she still graduated as salutatorian (2nd) of her class, due to her impeccable amount of focus.
she didn’t really get a chance to come out of her shell until the summer after her senior year. that was when she was hired as the clerk for the local toy store. even though she’s very introverted, she’s forced to be incredibly social when she’s on the clock, which she despises.
after high school, she also grew more stubborn and obstinate. she moved out of her mother’s home six months ago after she blew a mild argument out of proportion. she hasn’t spoken to her mother since. now, she needs a place to crash on the couch of.
she feels as if she doesn’t belong here anymore. her go-to response to trouble is to just run away from her problems. that’s why whenever there’s doubt as to her whereabouts, you can bet that she’s most likely taking the train down to manhattan. she loves that city, because with so many people walking around, she’s seen as much less of a freak. she enjoys being a small fish in a big pond and she feels as if she can’t get that by being a toy store clerk in a small town, where everyone knows everyone.

Marcie came as a slightly late Christmas present to a mother with dreams for a girl who would reach beyond the stars. A laughing, smiling little girl who wanted for nothing and gave little fuss. She played her part well; sitting through lessons in piano, voice and cello on top of dance for years. There was no complaining allowed, no going outside of what was planned out for her. Hard work was rewarded greatly but always always expected… On the occasion that Marcie was allowed to actually be herself, or even act like a regular kid, she found herself feeling more rambunctious, loud, and overall a sarcastic shit. But after one of her friends mother’s had a conversation with her own, that was quick to die out. She learned how to make people see a certain side of her, how to change like a chameleon changes their skin.
Marcie’s father was a man with habits that required a good poker face, a lot of white lies and a “grass is always greener…” attitude. Family felt like a trap and it was the one thing she agreed with the man on. Family began to feel like a restriction of self, high expectations and mostly feeling as though there was no real escape. A person can’t help but feel restless when things aren’t ‘right’. The kicker for her, though, was nothing ever felt ‘right’. She was always striving to find her place, her worth, somewhere to actually call hers.
She floated from friend group to friend group, hanging just on the outside of everything to be seen as someone who was kind and caring but never enough for people to find out who she really was.

for a very long while, marcie felt nothing but anger at her situation. after her mothers death her father decided to take the two of them back to his hometown. the one he had sworn he never wanted to see again. she managed to keep the facade going, pretending to be the perfect kid. finished school, went to the college in town, found people to be around enough to call friends. then at the drop of a dime, she exploded. the world caved in on her, the world was no longer perfect. she’d blown up on her dad; blaming him for her mother’s accident. blaming him for why she wasn’t able to feel settled into the world. marcie dropped out of school, deciding that she really didn’t want to waste money when she didn’t know what she wanted from life. she had begun to distance herself in fear of taking any emotions she had out on the people around her. she isolated herself, no longer able to keep up the front that she was just this sweet polite girl. at 21 she stopped talking to her father all together.

it had lasted three years, she would see him in town and would walk the other direction. her father was someone she would see all of her faults in, someone who reminded her of the person her mother tried to mold her into. and at times she was still the girl who had impeccable manners, that was gentle and well spoken. essentially the embodiment of “sit still look pretty”. Basically, you couldn’t tell the difference between her and a nice vase of daisies. This was the version of herself that she wanted to bury but it came out when she met new people, people who had only seen that side of her and especially when she visits her father now. slowly however she began to settle into the person she wanted to be. inside she felt as though she should be bigger than life, to be the person to go dancing in the rain, to have awful pop music blasting throughout the house, laugh at everything and then nothing, to have tears in her eyes from feeling too much, daydreaming about running away or at least going on a country wide road trip. This was the version of herself that she wanted to bring to the light and she worked hard at expressing it.
