it was a conversation you didn't want to have

you loved Asmo, truly, deeply, from the bottom of your heart

but that's exactly why, no matter how you hated it, you had to have this conversation

the both of you were sitting on his couch, your hands wrapped around his torso as he leaned on you

"Asmo-" you called out, testing his name on your tongue.

"yes, love?"

you were sure he could smell your apprehension for the inevitable, his own soothing scent spreading whenever your thoughts ran too fast too hard, for you to keep up and do anything but worry

"is something wrong?" he asked again, pressing himself closer to you

you moved your mouth soundlessly for a while, testing out what exactly you wanted to say, how exactly you were going to say it

"Asmo, let's- let's break up." you rushed your words, your grip on Asmo's shoulder intensifying in strength

Asmo froze, his scent souring

"you- you want to break up with me?"

and you knew that you just say yes, instead of trying to make him understand why you were doing this

after all, it was for his own good

"it's not that i want to," you stressed, trying to make him understand for your own selfish desires

"but- it's, it's for your own good. i mean, i've seen you with some of the other alphas, and they're bigger and stronger than me, than i ever will be, and you don't, you don't deserve my love, when you could be getting so much more, and it's not that i want this, it's just that-"

you began to ramble, tears blurring your vision as they snaked down your face

"i'm not giving you the love you deserve, that you need, Asmo, all i want is for you to be loved the way you deserve." you voice by this point had thinned out, so soft, and un-alpha-like

Asmo didn't deserve someone like you, someone who was constantly being mistaken for an omega
