April 1985
Freddie Mercury was starting to film his first solo video, "I Was Born To Love You"(single to be lifted from the "Mr. Bad Guy" album)
🔸 Mercury to the rescue.
About 2 minutes after this shot this poor girl wacked her head against the metal rostrum of the stage.
The video ground to a halt.
One very big bump appeared.
Off to hospital they went.
Fred was really upset and concerned for the dancer (sorry can't remember her name) and couldn't do enough her. 4 hours later the show went on.
Another very late video

One of her favourite tales is how former Queen frontman Freddie came to the rescue of a dancer who injured herself on the set of his first solo video shoot ('I Was Born To Love You', taken 'Mr. Bad Guy' album).
"He rushed up and said, 'Darlings', darlings, don't worry, I'll take her to hospital and she'll be out in a flash," recalls Arlene, who found fame after she formed risqué dance group Hot Gossip in the 1970s. "He picked her up, like King Kong picking up Fay Wray, draped her over his shoulder and rushed off in his car."
She says Freddie was "absolutely amazing.
He was wild, exciting and thrilling to work with, as well as brave and fearless."
He also introduced Arlene to her partner, August Ion, a carpenter on the same video shoot
👉 The name of the dancer in the story is Els Deceukelier
"While recording I Was Born To Love You, I was injured and Freddie accompanied me to the emergency room of a London hospital."
