I am so happy that there’s so many new phannies that appeared post hard launch or podcast etc!! as a fan who has been here a while and experienced the hiatus it is so wonderful to be apart of this new era of dan and Phil especially watching people experiencing them for the first time and it’s like re-igniting a lost passion, not that I ever really lost it but it’s brought back a lot of my good memories with D&P :3

What I thought about Caine in the TADC finale

Overall a fun watch, a good time. However I am unfortunately a little disappointed.

Episode 8 set up episode 9 brilliantly, I was so excited to see what they would do with absolutely NOTHING left.

It was a tragic concept. The whole show was based in tragedy and it ended as if the creators were convinced the audience couldn’t handle their precious characters ACTUALLY dying

And to have it completely wrapped up like that in one hour with a complete “every is okay now forever” vibe just is so,,, off for what everything the show set up.

Now I have things to say about every character and everything else but I’m going to focus on Caine to not make this so long as Caines story holds the biggest heartbreak for me

Caine was my baby. He was my favourite. I related to being misunderstood and struggling to understand the people around me etc and I saw myself in him

His progression through out the show was one of my favourite things to watch because it was so relatable, watching him get more confused and trying harder and harder and never seeming to get it right

I expected he’d be back in some way in the finale, but I assumed it would carry,,,a similar weight to the absolute fear and horror of the episode prior

Cain deserves redemption. But what, he went on instagram and suddenly understood how to be respectful? Suddenly realised how to talk to people articulately? There was no cool down he just was suddenly good.

“I thought about it guys and I will stop being a bad person”

Bro is an AI who’s never felt an emotion in his life why does he suddenly understand? Because he saw the internet?

It’s just not enough for me to justify such a nuke to caines character like that he was completely different

Honestly even a joke in there about maybe he looked up “human emotion” books or somethn to explain the complete switch

I did see glimpses of him in his montage with the gang which I really liked, but I feel caines redemption should’ve been more implied and less immediate

I expected a lot more.

The more time that passes since I went to rehab, the more I realise it was actually kinda traumatic and brainwashy and I fully fell for it … hmm

I didn’t think it was that bad, infact I did learn a lot, but what was expected of me was,,, ableist? To say the least.

But when I came home, and to this day, I haven’t stopped having nightmares about going back…
