every once in a while dan and phil will remember that they have the ability to drop relationship lore and be like “oh yeah haha we went on a date here because we go on dates.” and I feel like I’m walking into a spirit halloween with one of those skeletons at the door that jumpscares you

The truest words ever spoken, for me, are "Phil Lester is the king of comedy"
Nothing can outmatch his comedic genius. Dan is equally as funny, but he is more loud and obvious abt his comedy, ykwim? Phil makes jokes in a way that you might just miss it. He does it like he's not trying to do it.
The one-liners he constantly drops are the perfect example of this, because nothing on his face can even slightly give away the fact he was trying to be funny. If you weren't paying attention to the meaning of the words spoken, you wouldn't even realise he made a joke. Its the way he speaks, the way it seemingly comes to him like breathing, the way he let's it fall out of his lips like the joke is not even half-formed in his head just yet
