Capharnaüm/Autoroute/Élucubrations

Jacques était assis face à son vieux père dans la cuisine crasseuse de son enfance. Il observait ce vieux père sans écouter ses éternelles élucubrations sur la vie. Son père était certes vieux et diminué physiquement, il n’avait cependant pas perdu de sa superbe et imposait toujours sa prose argumentée par un discours habile. Jacques observait ce père au milieu du capharnaüm qu’était devenue la cuisine depuis que sa mère était morte. Il se dit que la vieillesse avait quelque chose de majestueux. Le père tapa du point sur la table et Jacques sursauta. Le père avait toujours été ulcéré par le silence de son fils. Il fit grincer les roues rouillées de son vieux fauteuil et amena Jacques sur le palier de la maison.

« Tu vois Jacques, lui dit-il, lorsque tu m’auras ramené une nouvelle chaise, je retournerai grimper ces montagnes. »

Et Jacques imagina le père sur un fauteuil roulant flambant neuf gravissant les chemins pentus de la montagne à la vitesse d’une Mercedes sur l’autoroute.
