Cape of Good Hope Incident

A minor incursion on the southern tip of South America has resulted in the near complete annihilation of the entire 3rd Fleet surface force and the defeat of the Fleet Maidens Ardent, Bolzano, Cherovna Ukraina, Chuyo, and Eagle. While all Maidens were recovered, seven vessels were lost and six more heavily damaged, including the USS Eisenhower and USS Virginia. The 3rd fleet's submarine maiden, Corvina, is credited with the safe recovery of her squadron after enemy surprise attack caused Ukraina to capsize and struck Eagle hard enough to shatter her Barrier Armor. The incident followed this curious report from the Stream Detection System: Stream detected. Origin, Subantarctic. Two objects on approach to Punta Arenas. Arrival in 3 minutes, 26 seconds. Evacuation of civilian personnel underway. Fleet response confirmed. This suggests a third Elvari base in the 'Sub-Antarctic', previously unknown. Our sources state that only a single Elvari cruiser appeared from the Stream exit, which was immediately engaged by all gathered forces and destroyed. Following that, a series of Elvari weapons fired from the center of the gathered fleet. Sources have no idea as to the origin of these attacks in the ensuing chaos. The port of Punta Arenas has been destroyed, but there has been no indication of Elvari troop movement into the area. Second and Fourth fleet units have moved into the area while the 3rd Fleet maidens recover.
We're pleased to announce that the entire team has survived and will make full recoveries.
Eagle has relayed to us her vow to find and destroy the Elvari responsible, while Chuyo suggested it may be a new enemy ship class, stating that "It's only strong because we don't know what it's capable of. Once we learn that, it will never succeed again." -- Fleet Watch Pacific
