The dream plane was not like regular dimensions, it was like... well, it’s been described to her in different ways and only some of them have made sense to the reborn witch. As best as she understands it’s best to imagine a sink for all the fears and dreams of humankind. Tales that are imagined and remembered then coalesce into more than just an idea in that world. Right. Elijah is unfortunately unable to commune with any of them, at least not in any kind of productive conversation. So for all her connection to the entities that exist on it grasping it has been a difficult process necessitating lots of research and ... geez, asking around?
Or in this case, helping herself to exploring abandoned schools and their libraries. Elijah’s coven had been left abandoned under mysterious circumstances. There were clues to work with there too that she might use to find connections with other locations to piece together the secret behind the dream plane, but-- she’s just one girl, who already was so out of place at home. This whole ordeal can be a lot for her.
“I can’t just give up...” The witch mumbles to herself, leafing through the various books that hadn’t disintegrated or ruined by the elements. For how old this place was, it had held up well enough that she didn’t feel bad staying for a few night. There’s even a fireplace she was able to light once some firewood was tossed inside. There was still time before she’d figure out where she would want to sleep, more books pored over by candlelight as the evening breeze gently pushes at the panes of the windows.
Even if she didn’t learn more about her situation or her coven, she could still learn. For a witch Elijah was woefully undertrained in the ways of--
A noise in the distance, but it didn’t sound like the wind or any natural phenomena. Was there an animal? ...a person? Elijah steadies her breathing, carefully setting the book down as she peers around the bookshelf into the distance. The hallway was too dark to see down.
“I knew I should have lit more of those candles! Ohh.... hello?!?! Is somebody there!” She calls out with arguably less care than the scene may warrant, waving her hand and sending a sprite of fire spinning down the way, lighting some of the sconces as it flew.
