Secret Memory ?? - Tears of Heaven
... There was this hill back home. Vast and beautiful, yet it felt so empty. Mother and I shared this dream of making our own garden, planting that hill with Tears of Heaven seeds. Those were Mother's favorite flowers after all; once planted, as long as there was magic, they could sprout anywhere at anytime and only needed less than a day to bloom.
... But she was far too ill to carry out that dream, and soon, too ill to provide for us. So I started working at six years of age. For every dozen coins I won, I'd separate one into a little wooden box I made - so in the future when I had enough I'd buy the seeds - and the rest I would spend on food and other needs.
By the time I was ten, the box had more than enough to buy the seeds. Mother was overjoyed when she saw me coming back with them, no longer looking as sickly as she usually did. On that night, we went out to watch the sky under a dead ancient tree, finding constellations and recounting stories of Gods and Spirits.
I remember the auroras appearing, and Mother saying she was feeling tired. She asked me to get my wooden ocarina and play our secret little tune. It's been a while since I last did it, so I obliged. I started playing, the melody echoed in the dead of the night. It entranced me so much, I failed to realize how silent my surroundings became without the sound of the ocarina.
... When I came to, the night sky was already giving way to dawn, a gentle breeze blowing across the hill.
... When I asked Mother if she liked the song, the flowing breeze was the only response.
...
... There was this hill back home. Vast and beautiful, now filled with Tears of Heaven which never ceased to bloom. It took me so long, but I finally was able to carry out mine and Mother's dream. To make our own little Paradise.
... I only wished she could've been there to see it come true.
You would've loved it so much...
