i've been re-reading the underland chronicles & basically nothing is okay. what if everything was about war & the way it strips away your compassion & you wonder why it's humanity's first reaction to fight when it's better to love & what if you were twelve and you spent the last year being ping ponged around between everyone's different plans for your life but nobody really cared what your plans were & then at the end of all things you get to go home back to normal back to life & you turn the tv on to see that war started again & it's not any different just because it involves humans instead of talking animals.

fave thing ever when writing steve is making him say "i was still alive when x happened" as if he's not alive when im writing him, like yes steve think about whether your existence on this earth counts as being alive, let's unpack that, or let's not because im in charge
