I’ve had an apple account since the ‘90s. Somewhere in the early 2ks, Apple decided to switch from @mac.com to @me.com (why the fuck?!!). I’ve never used my me.com account but man, it gets the weirdest email. Just after perusing this season’s holiday hijabs from some Indonesian store, I have an email from the governor of Irkutsk. Feels like I’m suddenly in a game of RISK i did not know I’d started playing. Weird!
Dear residents of the Irkutsk region!
On November 4 we celebrate National Unity Day - a national holiday, a day of military glory.
Our multinational country is bound by strong traditions of patriotism and cohesion.
National Unity Day, fulfilling an important historical mission, restores the connection between times and generations, the inextricability of the traditions of serving the Fatherland, and responsibility for its future.
We must be worthy of the great history of our country, remember those who faithfully served and are serving the Motherland, working for its development, for the benefit of our children. The Angara region values the bonds of brotherhood and friendship, the hopes and thoughts common to the whole country, and remembers that the prosperity and glory of the Irkutsk region grows through common joint efforts.
I wish you success, health and all the best!
Governor of the Irkutsk region
Igor Kobzev
