Embarkation - Disney Cruise Line: What You Need to Know
If you are like me, I have a really hard time holding in my excitement when it's time to board the ship. If I could embark as soon as it arrived I would, but, unfortunately, I can't.

Parking at the port is fairly simple and straightforward. If you're having trouble with directions you can use this as the address in your GPS:
9155 Charles M Rowland Dr, Port Canaveral, FL 32920
You have a couple of options when parking at the port; if you're bringing your own vehicle, each type of vehicle are differently priced. We have always parked in the parking garage because it just tends to make the most sense. However, you can also park on a preferred surface lot closer to the ship and to the porters. For the entire week in the parking garage it's $128, and if you have an oversized vehicle (camper) it's $228 for the week. Some hotels offer discounts on parking when you stay for a night. We have always stayed at the Best Western Inn & Suites and receive a 40% discount on parking.
So how soon can you arrive and park? Well, that really depends on you and the employees working at the port. We arrived right around 9:15 at the terminal and waited about 15 minutes to get into the parking garage itself. Now, once you park you have two options: one, you can wait in line at level 3 with all your luggage until the porters begin working, o two, you can take your own luggage that is being checked down where the luggage drop off is. I typically do option two for three reasons. One, when they start allowing you to enter the terminal you don't have to wait for a porter to get your checked luggage, two you're not having to pay a porter to take your luggage, and three I like knowing that my luggage has made it past the drop location. The porters there are sharks as well so watch out. If they see you carrying/rolling luggage with checked tags they will literally snatch it from your hands and beg for money. This happened to us.

Okay it's time to enter the terminal, what do you need? Make sure you know your stateroom number and have your proper identification (Driver's license and birth certificate or Passport). Once you checkin you proceed down the walk way to security. If you are bringing wine or beer make sure it's in your carry on; otherwise, you won't have it until you return.
Upon entering the terminal, you may be slightly overwhelmed by how large the terminal is and how many people are in there depending on when you arrive. You want to proceed to the left side of the building and begin weaving through the queue lines to officially check in and receive your key to the world card. It's pretty straightforward and easy. After checking in you'll receive a ticket that states your boarding number. This is just a way for Disney to regulate the number of people entering at one time and helps the loading process go a lot smoother. Once you step through the yellow Mickey, your vacation has officially begun!
