How do HTML and embed codes even work
Embedding Tumblr Posts: Tumblr offers embed codes to place a published post on any website that allows an HTML embed. From the Desktop Dashboard, simply click the three-dots icon and select "Embed" from the sharing menu. But what if that post isn't on your Dashboard right now? Try these tips.
Feb. 20, 2015 Update: Tumblr added an Embed button to individual blog post pages.
If you have the post URL to its individual page — also known as a permalink — add /embed to the end of the URL, like this: http://unwrapping.tumblr.com/post/101895859192/embed Some blog themes end the URL with #notes — that's an anchor to jump to the notes. Remove #notes then add /embed to the end of the URL. Many thanks to strle for this tip.
If you haven't liked the post, now's the time. Like the post. Then go to https://www.tumblr.com/likes/ to see the post on your Desktop Dashboard. Click the three-dots icon and select "Embed." Hat tips to andrewwilkes and jeffreyweston.
Or try these steps to change your Desktop Dashboard URL to reveal the post. It's a bit longer process, involving some Dashboard time travel.
Testing Spotify embed code
Just noticed that Spotify - which I love and pay the $10 a month fee for - has an embed code for individual songs, albums and playlists. I wanted to see how they work, so am posting one of each here. I wonder if the music will just play or if it will force users to create a Spotify account, download and launch Spotify. Let me know what you think.
