Leaving comments on fics you like is so important

I just got the first comment ever on something I wrote over a year ago (it's gotten kudos, gets a scattering of them every month or two but never a comment) and honest to goodness it took my day from something that was spiraling downward into a full upwards sweep of light. I am still flailing levels of happy from ten little words. Ten words has me actively considering tiptoeing back into writing for fandom again after more than a years hiatus. Telling people when you like what they create you can mean the world to those creators.
