It took like 10 times before the wheel chose someone I hadn't already drawn for mermay before. It was delightful when it finally chose Ember, my fire imp OC. Thought it would be fun to draw a fire based mermaid instead of having her underwater. I'd like to think she's swimming through lava.

I was looking at an old lineart drawing of an OC where I used a color from the character as the background color and wanted to try it again. Ember was a nice character for this little exercise.

I wanted to post a reflection of the year today but between traveling and recovering from getting sick, I'm doing a repost instead. The dynamic between Ira and Ember is one I should draw more of because I enjoy it so much.

I wanted to share a drawing I did earlier this week compared to a colored sketch I did back in 2017 with my OCs Ira and Ember. Ember looks young but she's like a mother to Ira. She's looked after him ever since she found him wandering around with no memory.  

I reworked Ember's design earlier this week because she's an imp so I want her to be short but I also want people to look at her and know she is an adult.

I've been stuck on Ember's memory so I'm even further behind on these birthday drawings. This pint-sized lady's favorite memory is shocking a class she was instructing when she announced that she was the one in charge.

Happy Birthday to this snarky lady, Ember. Ember has undergone some design changes so she can be a small lovable size she now is with bigger ears and feet. I usually haver her hair in dual ponytails but I decided to draw it down for her birthday. May or may not be a permanent change, we’ll see. I didn’t mention this on her last birthday but Ember is one of my oldest OCs age wise. Also I need to talk to her about her hobbies because so far they’re just being around heat.

Anyway, Ember enjoys letting people underestimate her and doing impulsive activities. She dislikes fire extinguishers and being in one location for long. She’s a prankster and unpredictable. Her favorite food is jalapenos.

Concluding June birthdays is Ember, she’s a fire imp. She spends a lot of her time traveling and causing mischief. She’s snarky and clever. Her body is made entirely out of fire so she morfs into different forms. She loves heat and fire in general and hates water and being talked down to.
