For various reasons Seiichirou didn’t really visit this side of the island very often but returning from the City of Glass he heard talk about something that sounded awfully familiar. He thought he’d just go take a look and leave. 

And as it sounded, it turned out to be a bit like Tôrônagashi. They handed him a lantern but Seiichirou only ended up sitting down at the riverbank, watching lanterns flow by. 

He’s only ever really attended a funeral as a child. It was one of a distant relative’s too, no one he knew. He supposes he’s been fortunate in that respect. So, if it’s according the tradition there’s no one he could send one for.... After all they should all still be well and alive....

It does makes him wonder if everyone is fine. Back in Romani as well as back in Japan.

Kamui stares intensely into the small, smooth tablet in his hands. Does this have magical properties, like tomes and scrolls? He’s well versed in magic, though he prefers staves; maybe, if he could harness this power...?

The royal pokes at the bright surface of the object with a frown. What kind of magic is this supposed to be? Snooze, Vibration... He taps at it a few more times and—

BRRRRING! BRRRRING!

Kamui shouts, accidentally throwing the tablet away from him in his surprise. The tablet continues to make that awful noise, moving slightly on the ground with each sound. He winces and approaches it, bending over a bit to watch it cautiously.

Completely unaware that he has someone’s attention.

VIII. //     “and if i am?  so what?” he looks dead into takemi’s eyes.  “do you expect me to take a nap like a good little boy?  i lost that privilege ages ago, and i don’t deserve it even if i wanted it.  i can’t stop moving, and when i move, it hurts less.  there’s too much that will catch up with me—and if it does, i die.  it’s that simple.” there’s venom in his voice, but he’s merely shooting the messenger; she’s not truly the target of his ire.

VIII. //     “tell me something,” he begins softly, staring the doctor down with cold burgundy eyes.  “you’re not stupid.  you’re in league with amamiya and his ilk, and they can barely keep their damn mouths shut to save their lives.  you must know who i am and what i’ve done, and you must’ve known for some time, if i’ve surmised anything about you.  why, then, do you offer me medicine, still...?” he’s perplexed by the notion, and therefore, he has to ask.
