Now June may be over but the gay stays all year so you’re still gonna see some posts like this one (sorry, not sorry). We have to continue to spread awareness and fight for change 365 days of the year. ✊🏻🏳️‍🌈✨ The rainbow logos may be gone but take notice of those donating to lgbt+ organisations all year and don’t just use 🏳️‍🌈 to profit off.💰 ‼️Currently 71 counties make being me and part of the LGBT community a criminal offence (of which, 11 the death penalty is imposed or a possibility). Excuse my little rant for a moment

To those who say being gay is a choice…

I didn’t choose to be hated on. I didn’t choose to be one of the most I hated members of society. I didn’t choose to be bullied or beaten or threatened. I didn’t choose to be unwanted or unloved for who I am. I didn’t choose to be judged or glared at. I didn’t choose to feel like a freak. I didn’t choose to be ashamed or disgusted for who I am. I didn’t choose to sit up for countless hours at night fearing what the next person would say when they found out. I didn’t choose to feel the need to not exist. I didn’t choose to want to feel like dying. I didn’t choose to be gay.

But I did choose to love myself. I chose to accept who I am. I chose to live each day to the fullest. I chose to ignore what others think. I chose to remember that words can’t hurt me. I chose to love those who love me. I chose to be happy. I chose to remember that I am no different then anyone else. I chose to embrace life. I chose to embrace the gay. I chose me and I will always choose me.
