3 of the og salad girls~ ...what haven't I said about the first two yet oh gosh...?

🌟 - Laighe was just normally on the tall side of sylvari for most of her life, like the 6' range. And while she grew a little afterward as dragon magic was released from each death, it wasn't until starting in lws4 that she really noticeably got a bass-boosted growth spurt. And it didn't stop until a while after she retired. She tops up at being able to look down at max height norns. It got to the point of needing custom armor and clothes, and she's very much enjoying not going through new clothes as fast in her retirement.

🌟 - Illiadde, despite being Kvolds first friend in his eyes, never liked him. He pissed her the fuck off, and is not at all someone she regrets leaving behind in the Court. If he ever crossed her path again he'd be just as dead as any courtier. Genuinely there's only one person she's seriously cared about, and even then if it's ever addressed she won't let the person who realized it survive. This does include the very person she cares about. It has to stay unsaid, which is just as well considering Strair also doesn't want to ever fucking address it out loud.

🌟 - Embrant is butch, and I think simply that I don't address that out loud enough! She likes pastels and floral as a color palette but keeps to a very masc style.

🌟 - Embrant plays sports on her weekends! She really loves crab toss for a team sport, and kickboxing for 1v1. But she's game to play just about anything if asked!

🌟 - Kavi loves minorly sabotaging exhibits in the wizard towers. Nothing too deadly, but enough that things will...just get loose from time to time :)

7. What is the most romantic gesture your OC has ever performed? Alternatively (or additionally), what romantic gesture would they most like to perform?

EMBRANT probably has several moments tying for this, she's such a blatant romantic and is always performing grand gestures for Wrelia ( @ascalonianpicnic ) on a whim. My favorite big romantic gesture to this day is before the two were even dating. Embrant saw Wrelia, a sickly dead looking plant, and it was love at first sight. When we realized Wrelia was leaving, she broke from her position on guard duty for the Pale Tree to try and catch the same elevator down from the omphalos chamber. She ended up running right into Wrelia and knocking her over in the elevator as she hurriedly asked for her name and a date!

LAIGHE is much more understated in her displays of love, but she does in that quietness have very sweet moments of romance. One of her biggest gestures was when she was dating Trahearne early on, and she used her connections in the Priory to dig up an old tome he'd been sure there were no copies left of. She had a copy made with the full contents and presented it to him, overjoyed by how excited it made him.

10. Does your OC have a type? Have they ever been surprised by their feelings for someone who doesn't fit this?

EMBRANT absolutely has a type (if you're an unconventional freak she is IN YOUR AREA) and while she's occasionally been into someone conventionally attractive, it was usually due to them still being energy-wise a complete freak. No crush she's had has ever really surprised her, and now that she's married she truly doesn't think anyone compares to her wife 💖

LAIGHE truly I don't think has a set type aside from someone being clearly able to handle themself autonomously in a healthy way. Her flings and romances have run the spectrum with the throughline really just being "capable" so no crush has been too surprising with any amount of thinking on it. And she's traveled enough even pre-commander years that her past relationships vary greatly.

Impact play would be enjoyed within reason! Not a necessity in bed but she enjoys experimenting. 7/10

ILLIADDE

0/10 to both, no interest in sex no sex drive no interest in kinks. If you come up to her you will experience one single impact before you die.

LAIGHE

She's not into impact play, but that's partially because she knows any impact from her would obliterate most people. 2/10 she could be interested but it'll likely never ever happen and she's completely content with that.

Biting is enjoyed, 6/10, but she can also live without it just fine. Being bitten is enjoyed much more than biting for her.

Right at the top, I honestly don't know what memory depths you pulled Niutuiyik from cause he existed for like a full two months as icebrood saga started then got deleted when the chapters on the third map released and my enthusiasm for the expac plummeted...I can't find him searching my blog, no idea if you just remembered his name??? I'll answer what I can for him but honestly a lot of info has left my head on that one. 100% answering 13 as well to make up for the missing oc info there 🙏 it did delight me to see him again, maybe he'll get a remake of sorts now that I've had time to develop my own icebrood saga...don't even have a screenshot on hand of him any more 😔

3. How did you choose their name?

Embrant was simply by sound. Just syllables I like together that read to me as a sunny spring day!

Ruan's was a matter of going over old gw1 and gw2 canthan names at length until I felt like I landed somewhere that felt right for them

Niutuiyik I do not remember the full thought process, if I remade him this would mean I'd be picking a new name too because I know his name did have meaning and I'd want to keep that level of intent

5. Is there any significance behind their hair color?

Embrant's entire color scheme was based very loosely off the bird of paradise flower, which includes her hair color! It's just mostly for a nice cohesiveness~

Ruan dyes their hair because they enjoy the color and that it makes them easy to spot in a crowd despite how short they are! Their natural color is a dark nearly-black brown.

Niutuiyik had black hair, entirely because it made sense for him and I in general stick to natural hair colors unless a character dyes their hair or I'm feeling fancy

13. How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

Embrant is all caught up but doesn't pass, and considering she's a Warden of the Grove, her story is very very chill and simple aside from her gf being the Commander's protégé lmao

Ruan's story is constantly caught up and jumping ahead right now, they're one of my most up to date commanders at the moment. But their plot is always malleable and subject to changes if the plot reveals dictate it and it's fun✨️

Niutuiyik's story burned so bright for so little time.......if I ever do remake him, I'd talk about the story then

EMBRANT MY BELOVED i almost never talk about her since she's only tangential to the plot through @ascalonianpicnic 's Wrelia, but she's so fun and one of my oldest characters thank u for asking about her <3

1.Write a basic lowdown of your OC. What's their deal?

Embrant is a thirdborn, one of a set of pod twins! Neither of them were given strict Wyld Hunts from the Dream, but they were imbued with a thirst or battle and exploration! While Rieft sought her adventures out in the distant shiverpeak mountains, Embrant found her place within the ranks of the Wardens. She spent years working her way up from trainee to a personal guard of the Pale Tree, though she still takes the occasional mission saving dreamers and soundless from nearby Court encampments. During the time of lws2 when the various leaders met for a summit, she was at the Pale Tree's side. And within the meeting chamber she saw the most beautiful sylvari she's ever laid eyes on.

Naturally with everything going on, the chaos that ensued, there wasn't really time to give a simple hello and do any flirting or anything, so when the battle was won and Wrelia was about to leave the chamber, Embrant literally threw herself into the same elevator pod and knocked her crush right over! Swept her off her feet lmao! Over the years the two have built a lovely life together, Embrant keeping her Warden job while Wrelia chases after Laighe across the world as Head Tactician. Between world events the two spend ample time catching up on affection as happily married wives, and when apart Embrant often sends Wrelia care packages!

8. Biggest strength and weakness?

Her biggest strength is, well, her strengths in battle! She is an asset to the Wardens and there's a reason she's one of the Pale Tree's personal guards.

Her biggest weakness is her inability to forgive once she's determined someone to be an enemy. Very black and white way of seeing things, once you're on her shit list you stay there for better or worse.

28. What is their character arc, if they have one.

She's one of my few characters that doesn't really have one! For the most part, she's been the same person from the start up til now. Adventurous, optimistic, motivated, and deeply distrustful of the Court. If anything, her distrust has grown with the time Wrelia was devastatingly emotionally hurt by a courtier. She's not against rehabilitation at all and supports the efforts, but she herself doesn't casually converse with those who stepped into Nightmare.
