  It was a stressful day for you, as every day seemed to be now. You could go for a nice long nap, some snacks maybe, and definitely some cuddles from your most beloved Papa. 

You stop at your room, gathering a blanket to wrap around yourself before you make your way down the hall, passing ghouls on their way to Belle’s coffeeshop. You watch their tails swish back and forth - they were like the pendulum of a grandfather clock. You don’t focus on them too long though.

You’ve traveled these halls about a million times before, and nearly every time before, Copia was always busy. Since becoming Papa, he rarely ever had time for breaks or to even properly get some rest. Sister Imperator made light work of making sure he was always working, always busy. He had a duty now, though, not just to you, but to the church as well. You’d simply after deal.

Copia’s bedroom door is closed when you approach it, but you know he’s inside, probably taking a much needed break, however long it may last. You hesitate to knock. What if he’s sleeping? What if he’s just too tired right now? You shake your head and quietly open the door to wander inside.

Copia is thrown across his bed, surrounded by a mess of papers he must’ve brought with him from his study. A hand is thrown across his face, smudging his skull paint against his sleeve. He hears you, though, and like a rat he jumps a little. 

“Oh, Cara Mia, what,” He rubs his eyes, sitting up with a heavy sigh, “oh! Look, you look like a little burrito!”

You can see past his attempt of a playful facade and just purse your lips. “You’re tired. Let’s do something together, maybe take a bath?”

He tilts his head, hesitant on agreeing as he looks at all the work, but before you can say something about it, he nods. “Perhaps a minisculo break will do fine, si.” 

“You need more than just a small break,” you want to say more but a yawn cuts you off, “sorry...”

He’s bewildered! Confused! Surprised, really. He didn’t notice until now just how tired you really were too. Gently, he stands and presses a soft kiss against your forehead, then another on your nose, then one on each cheek, then finally one on your lips. 

“A break, si! Come, come! I will prepare the bath! You, ah, sit and relax!” His sudden burst of energy surprised you, but when you open your mouth to ask where it came from, he’s already in his bathroom preparing a bath. 

You grin at that, face red from the kisses he gave you. You leave the blanket behind and follow after Copia. The water is loud as it starts to fill the tub, steam rising steadily. The sound soothes you and you can feel yourself drifting off for a brief moment before you snap yourself back to reality. 

“Cosi assonnato, Cara Mia,” he snickers playfully, sighing softly as he lifts your chin. “Undress for me, hm?”

You nod quietly and undress. You’re cold now, so you sink into the water and leave space between your legs for Copia. He’s a bit slower, muttering something about his neck as he undresses, but he joins you in no time.

He’s comfortable between your legs, head resting on your shoulder as your fingers entangle in his hair. Your fingers against his scalp elicits a deep groan from him followed by a quiet Cara Mia. You smile at that and press a kiss against the skin where his shoulder meets his neck. 

“We should do this more.” You murmur, more to yourself than anything, but then he grabs your hand and presses kisses to each finger and in the middle of your palm. 

“We do this whenever you wish.” He affirms, leaving no room to argue about his duties. You can tell he’s content, and you are too. Just being here with him is enough to wipe every ounce of sluggishness and stress clean from your person. He’s quiet after that - a peaceful silence compared to the ear ringing silence you hear when you’re not with him.

You’re pretty sure he’s fallen asleep, though.

i have drawn the satanic rat man (copia). i am starting to realize more and more how much the grids help when drawing based off a photo, especially since i’m not really used to drawing realistic proportions on humans. i’m going to continue doing this grid thingy.
