The light streamed through the windows as Emily woke up, and she let out a groan as she opened her eyes. There was a comforting weight next to her, half on top of her.
She looked down, Phoenix's eyes closed, and mouth slightly agape, quiet whistles escaping as they sleep.
She lightly kissed their forehead, smiling at the small grumbles that escaped as Phoenix moved, burrowing more into Emily.
She kissed their head again before putting an arm around Phoenix, smiling and closing her eyes.
She didn't mind laying like this for five more minutes.
