Thief in the Night

Emily carefully crept through the grounds of a beautiful mansion, her life of being on the run for so long having taught her how to avoid all kinds of security systems, although, the ones here seemed quiet excessive in her opinion. To have all these security measures, to need all of them, these people must be rich! Surely they wouldn’t notice a few things missing here or there, as long as she didn’t take anything too important.
After slowly navigating the yard, and having a few close calls in the process, she managed to make it up to a window that was slightly ajar, at least enough for her to carefully nudge it open more until she could squeeze herself in... only for her to find she had slightly miscalculated when she couldn’t get her rear inside. She struggled for a moment to get free, praying she wasn’t making as much noise as she thought she was, flinching at every creak the window gave.
She did soon manage to pull herself the rest of the way in, tumbling to the floor with less grace than she would have liked. Oh well, at least she was in now! The brunette pulled herself to her feet and began taking any small, loose item she thought she could sell for a decent price as she made her way around the first floor, not wanting to risk the second for fear of waking someone.
With her pockets now all full, as well as a few of small pouches she carried with her, she was about to make her way back to the window to make her escape. Emily stopped when she heard a sound nearby, fear at possibly being caught had rooted her where she stood. Had she woken someone by accident? Did someone see her? Oh no, oh no, oh no!
