I was just waking up rubbing away the crust on my eyes. I sat up slowly, and took a sip of the water I had on my night stand. The birds outside we're chirping and the noise of the city begun to set in. "Eld, it's not time yet", Emily said as she looked up at me with tired eyes. "I know I just can't sleep", I said as sat there. Four days in a row I've been having the same night mare and can't seem to get it out of my mind, my squad getting killed and I can't do anything about it, al just pray it never happens. "C'mon", Emily said as she pushed me down to cuddle up next to me. I kissed her on the cheek as she faintly smiled and fell back asleep. I sat there stroking her dark brown hair running it through my fingers. She smelled like apples, I said to myself, I love that smell. Before I knew it, it was time to leave. Emily had gotten up to go into the kitchen, as I got my combat gear on. I walked into the kitchen and smelled fresh eggs and tea, Emily made her tea exactly to my specifications, no matter how hard Hanji or Petra tried they could never get it right. "Smells good", I said as I walked behind Emily to hug her. "Oh eld", Emily whispered as she cuddled her cheek into my hand. I walked over to dump some tea into my cup and sat down at the table as Emily brought breakfast over. She sat down as I took a bite of my food and realized she wasn't eating or touching her tea. A tear dripped from her cheek and landed on the table. "What's wrong babe", I asked. "I don't want you going, not on these expedition anymore, you can't die for someone else when our child hasn't even been brought into this world yet", she shouted out as she looked up at me in tears. I dropped my fork my hand still in the spot I had it in, my eyes wide open. "Eld, please stop this, I can't bare to think of you dieing", Emily said still crying out. I got up and bent down on my knee next to her. "Emily listen", I grabbed her hands,"I will always come home, your love is what gives me strength out there, our love is what drives, I refuse to quite", I begun to tear up, I've never seen Emily like this. "No it's not about that, I love you Eld, things can take you away from me those beasts", Emily said as she pointed out towards the wall from the window. "I know", I said. "No you don't know", she shouted in response still crying. I looked down at the ground still holding her hands. The faint whimpers of her crying. "Emily, I'm doing this for us, I had to reason to join the scouts, I was even gonna be an MP and sit back in the interior and never worry about a thing, until I met you", I said frowning. "Eld, promise you won't go", Emily said as she gripped my hand tighter. "I.... I can't", I looked at her into her eyes, all blurry from her tears. I got up from the ground and kiss on the lips, "Your My Waifu, I'd never let you go", I whispered into ear. She begun to blush and kissed me back placing her hands on my cold rosey cheeks. "I'm one of the best, I will always come home for you.... I promise on my grave", I said as I put my hand through her apple scented hair. "You promise, always?", Emily asked with a little glimpse of hope. "Yes", I nodded. Suddenly the sound of the bell signaling us it time for role call to prepare for our expedition. I got up and through my jacket on. "Eld", Emily ran over and kissed me, handing me a picture of herself and slipping into my front pocket. I smiled looking down at her, "I love you, i will be home in time for dinner", I promise, "look after the house and mom for me would you", I asked. Emily smiled in return, "oh yes", she hugged and begun to cry a little bit. "Emily, it's gonna be okay, I've always returned this times not any different", I said. The front swung open and Gunther was there, "Eld role call we gotta go", He shouted. "Goodbye my sweet, I love you so much", a tear fell from my eye as kissed on top of the head. I walked out towards the street. "Gunther come here", Emily said in tears. "What is it", Gunther asked. "Your Elds best friend", she grabbed his arm,"please bring him back to him, please", she cried as he nodded and walked out the door. Gunther caught up to me, "Hey Eld", he put his hand on my shoulder as we walked towards our horses, "don't lose yourself out there we got to keep it together understand", I nodded in response. We awaited on our horses as the final preps were checked and Erwin signaled to open the gate. "The 57th expedition beyond the walls begins now!, forward", Erwin yelled as the Scouts begun to head out. I will come back for you Emily, I promise. I looked over at Gunther, "hey what's wrong you don't look like yourself?", I asked. A bead of sweat fell of his forehead,"nothing, just a promise I have to keep", he replied. "Yeah", I whispered in my breathe, "I have a promise I need to keep to", I said under my breathe I looked back towards the gate, and all I could think of was My Emily. Several hours later.... The rain begun to set in, and the pressure was onto us. "We can't go out into the open we. Have no cover to use our 3DM gear", Petra yelled out. "What choice do we have?", Eren asked. I looked down at the map, "We might be out of options", I said. "Eld your in command here find us a solution", Oluo yelled out. We all suddenly looked up towards a flare. "A red flare", Gunther yelled out. "Someone must be in trouble let's move", I yelled out. Gunther was quick to take point and lead us towards. "V formation now, don't engage unless you need to let's not take any chances", I ordered the squad. "There", Gunther leaped to his left and we all stopped to reengage on a branch. Suddenly the person sliced Gunther in the stomach. I looked up to barely notice. "Gunther!", Petra yelled out, Oluo grabbed her before she could run towards her. "Wait!", Oluo said,"Eld look", I looked up and drew my blades. "What, It can't be", I said. "This ones mine", Eren said, just before he could bite his hand Petra stopped him. "Eren let us deal with this, go now!, we'll cover your retreat", Petra said, "Trust us". "Go eren", I yelled. As he nodded his head in response. "attack formation now, Petra rearguard, Remember it's just another titan", I screamed as I leaped forward. My eyes tighten as I knew now this is do or die. Emily was waiting for me. I leaped towards the female titan and threw out a smoke screen and making several attacks at the titans legs. "Now!", Petra yelled as she and Oluo made the drop onto the titans eyes. "Eld nows our chance", petra suggested I drew a new pair of blades and nodded, we leaped towards the titan, it turned around through the smoke I made out an eye. "It's still operational", I yelled out. But it was too late. I felt a large pain hit me in my hips and I fell to the ground, it happened so fast I barely felt anything... Erwin walked slowly on his horse through the crowds of eagerly waiting families. He saw Emily as she ran out into the porch of Her and Elds house. He quickly dismounted off his horse and carried the flag of the scouts. Emily ran down the stairs with tears in her eyes and fell to her knees. "No god no please, please! Please tell me you have someone else", she screamed out a fountain of tears ran down her face. "I wish I had better news", Erwin said as the families of Levi Squad gathered around in Anguish. "Emily you must take this", Erwin said attempting to hand her the flag. She got up and grabbed him by his jacket and begun to hit him on the Chest. "How could you!", she yelled out crying, repeating and repeating, "You got them killed, you could've saved everyone by keeping inside", Emily cried out, "I loved him no one deserved to die, nobody, especially not my Eld, he didn't deserve this", Emily looked up at the commander. Erwin looked around at all the families. "Commander Erwin please tell me my Gunther made it back", an older women asked grabbing his arm. "Erwin Levi wouldn't answer me, where's Petra? She made it back didn't she?", Erwin looked around everyone in tears. He looked down at the Ground, "The Members of Levi Squad, Eld Jinn, Gunther Shultz, Oluo Bozado, and Petra Ral, died Gallantly in the field of battle, there fight have humanity at a better chance", Erwin shouted out. "Yeah a better to chance to keep your science project alive is that it", someone yelled out. Erwin kneeled down next to Emily she was not well, "Emily I'm sorry", she held the flag in her hand crying, "we all are, Least I know he's in a place better than here". "He tried to his best to make it back, I know he did", Erwin said trying to comfort her. "I know, he promised me he was gonna be home before dinner", she let out more tears again. "He's all gonna be with you, that I know", Erwin said as I he stood up and slowly walked away his horse. "You promised me you'd be back Eld, you promised, all I wanted was to kiss you one last time".
