I guess this is the time to remind you, sometimes what’s going through your head is just a temporary situation and light will soon be shed.

Sound Opinion: “A” is for Assholes

- Lady A show themselves for what they are in their treatment of the other Lady A

First - either lying or admitting to being morbidly obtuse - the Nashville-born band formerly known as Lady Antebellum claimed not to really understand what the A-word meant.

Hint: it’s not architecture, as they implied.

Next, the band rechristened itself Lady A, despite the fact blues singer Anita White has called herself Lady A for decades.

Then next, the trio - Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood - claimed to have had “authentic (another “A” word) conversations” with White about both artists using the name. This might have been fruitful if Lady A, the group, had reached out to Lady A, the singer, to strike a deal before the name change, as the formerly Dixie Chicks did in working with New Zealand’s the Chicks.

But Lady A, the band, has shown itself to be anything but astute (see that?) or classy. And now, it’s suing Lady A, the singer.

Astonishing!

We know “A” stands for “Anita” where White is concerned. But Lady A, the band, hasn’t said what its “A” stands for yet.

It can’t be Antebellum.

Antenna would be stupid.

As would Architecture.

Asshole seems about right.
