Saw my breath two different states today; once in soft billowing clouds on the walk to campus and once in faint bullets of panic, like fireworks inside my chest when I ran out of choir. Dammit.

Give me coffee and let me feel like I can breathe again, once that happens then perhaps I can pretend to be alive.

Words are so difficult to get down sometimes, like that medicine you used to take as a child; you know, the one that definitely isn't cherry flavoured. Oh, and siri in Swahili means secrets.

Today I changed modules (again) from Music, Culture & Identity to Music & Mediation; despite Dr.Um's breakfast offerings during Wednesday 9am screenings, sitting in on the Mediation lecture made me feel inspired and excited about how much I have to learn, which isn't something that happens as often as I'd like and that convinced me to follow the good vibes.
When I posted that statement the other day, I failed to mention the fact that about 10 minutes previously I had written lyrics for a verse for the first time since about June. Obviously that was something of a big deal but the highlight of my day was when H & E came round for practice (with the new guitar!) before our gig tomorrow and in a pause from practising H said "I've got this idea which I was thinking we could use, if not I'll compose something else for it" and then the lyrics flowed into it. So that's exciting, especially as we're hoping to recruit E & M before too long to fill out the sound; apart from the cheese and ham toastie L made me earlier, I would say that was probably the highlight of today.
Anyway, I shall now try that thing called sleep, I hear it does magic.
Bara Nadare 2.0
So you’ve decided you want to use this blog for an actual purpose again; having sort of abandoned it for at least a year and without actually remembering the last time you didn’t save something as a draft instead of posting it, you think you’ll start using it to express yourself again, more literally than before. Why? Because you miss writing, watching the words flow from liquid to solid out of the end of whatever writing instrument you’re feeling identified by that day; and it’s all very well that music is still what makes you feel most alive, that’s to be commended. But writing (regardless whether it makes sense to anyone els) has always been a release, especially on days like this where you wake up not quite knowing which you you are today. Get ready, world, for I am about to unleash my words on you, my usually mundane observations will now, as someone once said, become part of the landscape; I’ll write whatever I want, in whatever language or style (or indeed person) I want and you can do whatever you want about it. But the point is I’ll be writing again.
And that’s good. (:
