Someday I’m going to figure out how to get Brett/Marci into a Daredevil fic. It’s the sarcastic banter background fanfic pairing the fandom deserves, and poor Foggy’s head would explode. Also, I want to give Barry/Cisco from The Flash a shot sometime, even if it’s just during a prompt meme!

A secondary (or underrated) character you want to see more of in fic?

BRETT MAHONEY. This is as much @ myself as anyone else, I can never seem to get him in gracefully. I don’t see the Daredevil ladies as much as I like either, but Brett is especially neglected. Also, more Jessica and Trish and Luke crossing over into Daredevil fic would be cool. We’re low on ensemble fics!

A character you enjoy making suffer.

I mean, for fic, canon is usually quite mean to characters and that’s why I want to write fic, it’s not like I want to inflict MORE pain on them. I admit it’s really easy to be mean to Matt Murdock, though, because he is A Disaster. Also, in general, characters whose actions canon defended when they really shouldn’t have. When I was still writing Merlin fic, if it wasn’t a silly AU I was not generally particularly kind to Merlin because I felt the show gave him much more leeway than he deserved.

Sometimes I enjoy inflicting suffering, but honestly 95% of the time it’s in service of the “comfort” part of hurt/comfort.

5. Favorite fic author? JFC. Pick a harder one. Ummmmmm... This honestly depends on fandom and mood. Like, if I’m looking for Inception feelsporn I’m gonna go with recrudescence any day of the week. If I want Steve/Tony feels, it’s RurouniHime.

12. What turns me away from fic the most? In terms of writing style it’s either absurdly over the top purple prose or overuse of epithets (”the blonde man” has a name, so do “the archer” and “the genius.” And how often in real life do you think of someone you know as “the taller woman” or “the shorter man?”). Characterization is a big thing for me, too. The story can be great, but if the characters don’t act like themselves, it’s hard for me to stick around.

26. Kinks I like but don’t want to try... oh goodness, there are so many. The thing I like about kinky fic is reading about how much the characters love the kink, how turned on they get by trying it out, how much they enjoy the kink. So it’s really easy for me to enjoy a fic with a kink I don’t want for myself as long as the characters are into it. But to answer the actual question... lots of the S&M parts of BDSM, watersports, rimming, anything involving food sex, somnophilia.

31. Do you read AUs? LOL, I say I don’t, but I totally do. In my primary fandoms I prefer reading canon or close-to-canon things, but I always reach that point where I’m like WHERE’S THE COFFEESHOP AU??? MERMAIDS? OKAY! And I will admit to being pulled into a fandom by its AUs.

the Merlin cast (any pairing you want) + Pitch Perfect

Oh man, you know me, so obviously you are getting the Merlin ladies version of this AU.

The Camelot Sorceresses are a well-known and well-put-together a cappella group, until at Nationals new soloist Morgana chokes. Still, she's left in charge the next year, with fellow rising senior Mithian as her second.

The next year, it's impossible to get recruits to Morgana's satisfaction, except that she finally talks her roommate Gwen into trying out, and Gwen's got a lovely voice. But, they basically end up with an incredibly ragtag crew on the Sorceresses this year, from Freya who barely even whispers everything she says to Elena, who's sort of a complete mess, bless her heart, to Vivian, who's kind of a spoiled brat, to Sefa and Isolde and ... well, you know, the whole crew. And they are, of course, a disaster at the beginning, but by the end of the year they are taking on Camelot's Knights (oh, we know who's in that) and, incredibly, winning.

And if Elena and Mithian have themselves a little victory kiss, well, I'm sure no one would be shocked.

Starships: 1 and 14. and Like Clouds in Starlight: 4, 5, 7 <333

1 What was my inspiration for this fic? How did it come to me?Since Starships was a remix, I spent a lot of time thinking of ways to transform the original story. And I considered a lot of things, but with remixes I tend to not want to do POV-switches unless the opposite POV really adds something new to the narrative. So I wanted to really transform it into something entirely new. I kept thinking about ways to play with structure, but the original fic already had a slightly unique structure to it. So I ended up thinking of alternate universes, and I ran through all the popular AUs I could think of until I suddenly started thinking about a space setting. And that's when it sort of clicked because horseback riding is such a huge part of the original fic, and that translates quite nicely into space ships. And the archery translates into weapons. So it just felt right when I started playing with those things!14 If I were to write a sequel to this fic, what would it be about?I think I'd just want to write about Mithian and Elena travelling the universe together, only needing each other and the wide space. Or maybe an operation going wrong for more drama and possible h/c!Also thanks for asking about Like Clouds in Starlight Widely Spread :34 What part of the fic was the hardest for me to write?There was a point midway into Like Clouds in Starlight where I sort of lost where I wanted it to go? I didn't really have a clear vision of the ending from the get go. I had a vague feeling of where I wanted them to end up emotionally, but how to get them there physically was a big challenge actually. I think it's around that time I decided that the characters needed to leave Ealdor to sort of propel their changes and their relationship. I realised that there wasn't a whole lot more I could do for them in Ealdor. So once I found that out, it became a lot easier and I eventually found the way for them to get where I emotionally wanted them to be. 5 What part of the fic am I still dissatisfied with?There are bits and pieces here and there that I wish I could change and rewrite a bit. I think that... I read some criticism of it and I think this was on the meme back when it was still one meme and I actually went there to read occasionally (which I don't anymore)... and they said that the fic probably would've worked better as an OF. And I think I kind of agree, in hindsight, and I would probably work on it to align the characters a bit more with the canon characters. Although I do think the themes and life situations in this fic is very different from the show and what we usually see in fic, so I think that's why the characters felt a bit more different than I initially intended. 7 Were there any major decisions I made about the fic that could have made it go a whole different direction?For a while it could've gone in several directions. But I always knew where I wanted them to be emotionally, so the changes would purely have been in terms of their location or what they chose to DO, not how they felt or ended up feeling.

Top 5 as-of-yet-unwritten books you'd like to read and/or write.

Disclaimer: I wish I had the superpower to know the plot of every book in existence, but I do not. If any of these books already exist, then you should definitely let me know because I want to read them

I want more post-dystopia novels. Not utopias, where we went the good route and there was never darkness at all, but stories where the Hunger Games happened, where other awful things happened, where the totalitarian regime was felled ... and life has to go on. I'm not really interested these days in how terrible everything is, I'm interested in people rebuilding and cleaning up the mess. I think this is why the whole solarpunk thing appeals.

There are so many pieces of media that are Dudes In Love With Their Spaceships. Malcolm Reynolds. James Tiberius Kirk. The Doctor. The list goes on, and my point is, can we have a lady captain or two who is married to her spaceship? Ms. Frizzle doesn't count.

Someday, I will figure out an origfic plot for the polytheistic-worship-in-the-modern-day universe that will not make it collapse under its own weight, and that will be a beautiful day indeed. (Some days I just happily sit around and worldbuild about Regency misses praying to Aphrodite while their mothers pray to Hera and Henry VIII converting to monotheism for Anne Boleyn.)

(This is hard, I have a whole list of tropes and things I want to write about sometime but they aren't Things That Aren't Around at all, you know?)

This almost got written for my NaNo: court fantasy where the big drama is that a spaceship full of aliens turns up. Fantasy/sci fi forever.

(My needs are so simple and unoriginal, I have been staring at this bulletpoint for about ten minutes going "Androids? Hot air balloons? Ladies kissing?")

I think I'll cop out and say: trope/setting intersections! Arranged marriages in space, robots in quest fantasy, dragons in high school romcoms, anything that combines and adds some spice to things is something I'm totally into.
