I've never had to take my shoes off coming into someone's house. It depends more on how long we're staying there. If we're just stopping by, we'd leave our shoes on, but if we're hanging out then I'd take them off. I'd ask first though. Like make sure they're cool with walking around barefoot. I know some people who ALWAYS where shoes in the house.

so it would be more ok to wear shoes in someones home than to not wear shoes? i mean you gotta do more damage with dirty shoes than being barefoot?
