Making a List || emmeline & evan
The Christmas season was fast approaching, and the gift season with it. Luckily there was staff to handle the gifts for the outer circle - children around his age of important politicians, influential acquaintances (both his own and his parents’), etc - and he had already handled gifts for the second tier, which consisted mainly of his parents’ friends and society people, but he had no idea what to get the inner circle.
His friends and family could by tricky to buy for. The answer usually came to him while he was out and about during break, most often on the main shopping street in Paris or London. Something told him that strategy wouldn’t work with Emmeline.
Clearing his throat, he leaned in to her. “Em, what’s on your Christmas list?”
A harsh ‘shhh’ from the librarian cut him off. A sheepish grin was shot her way before he retuned to his book. Not much note-taking was happening on his part, however. He angled his book to make it more difficult for Emmeline to see what he was writing and began to list possible gifts for the Ravenclaw.
“What about pearls?” he asked, looking up.
