You can’t want your freedom but also want to be in prison because you find comfort in the familiarity of its walls. Freedom is only possible if you recognise your prison to be what it is, and then want to get out of it. Too many people complain about what is restraining them from being better or achieving more, but they hold on to what makes them feel safe because they lack the self-esteem to break new ground in their lives. Their self-imposed prison grows to define their significance because of the sympathy they get for persevering under such trying conditions.
