He was such an idiot. He had one job. ONE. And somehow he had still managed to screw it up.
Sakura groaned as she walked through the endless corridors of the Hokage Tower. Had it always been this big? It really seemed a lot smaller from the outside. Clutching the scroll tightly to her chest, making sure it was still safe in her hands, she once again peeked her head into the hallway. She couldn’t take the risk of bumping into someone and questioning her why she was carrying the piece of parchment.
For one, she had no idea what it was or what it contained. And two.. Naruto would really suffer if she were to get in any sort of trouble. It made her blood boil when she could still recall his self-satisfied grin when he had showed up with it at the training grounds. It turned out when Kaka-sensei had ordered him to deliver the news to the Hokage of their completion of a simple D-Rank mission..-- because their sensei had other ‘important’ matters to attend to -- the knucklehead had ‘tripped’ over it on his way out and of course being him, he had taken it.
Sasuke-kun had showed indifference towards it, and to be honest she had too, especially after her crush had left. Except right before Naruto was about to explain why it was so special he was pulled over by who knows who, calling him over to invite him for ramen, and the scroll had been completely forgotten and left on the floor.
She would of wanted to ignore it and leave it alone, but the thought of somebody discovering what he had taken and getting him into trouble, which would probably lead him to being kicked out of team 7 and the team being disbanded..and taken away from Sasuke-kun.. had her quickly on her feet and running to the Hokage’s office.
It was easier than she had anticipated to infiltrate the building. Perhaps her skills as a ninja were getting better... oooor the more logical reason, they really couldn’t be bother by her. Either way, she was relief to find the office empty for her to be able to carefully place the scroll on the main desk. Except right when she had, it was as if a breeze from out of nowhere had entered the room and caused it to open. In the process the fine thin paper had made her a small yet deep cut on her finger. Because obviously she had been training with her team and enduring injuries had been part of lessons, she hadn’t cried out as she would have done not too long. Instead, she had only stared as a tiny droplet of her blood fell onto the paper and in an instant her and the whole room were engulfed into a white bright light. One that lasted for several seconds and had made her dizzy. She had to blink several times to realize what had happened.. but it seemed as if someone had just turned on the light..? Nothing seemed different. Nothing came out of the scroll..and most importantly, she didn’t feel different. So, thinking as a mere genin trying to save her love life, before anybody would notice her presence, she headed straight towards the door but only to be stopped by the sight of small silver box. It had a bunch of numbers and letters. and a lot of other small squares on a blue background she had never seen before..was that there before?
..and ew, why did the whole place suddenly smelled like ramen?
