i think loneliness changes the architecture of a person
Loneliness is strange because eventually it stops feeling emotional and starts feeling physical.
it changes posture. sleep. attention span. voice tone.
you become quieter without noticing. you stop sharing stories halfway through. you begin assuming nobody is listening anyway.
I think prolonged loneliness teaches people how to emotionally disappear while remaining visible.
and the frightening thing is: people can become excellent at surviving isolation.
excellent at carrying entire internal worlds privately.
sometimes I wonder how many people are functioning normally in public while privately feeling profoundly unreachable.
this is why poetry matters to me.
because sometimes poems become evidence that another human being once felt this too.
