I'm watching Empire rn and I DON'T like Takeem, How do you feel about them?

Do you have time because I have a lot.

First. I don't know how far you are in the show, so I'll try to keep my comments spoiler free as possible.

For one, I never got emotionally invested in the ship, When they got together in season 1, I just figured they were a starter ship and nothing was going to come out of it.

Secondly, their who relationship was on and off to the point where it really got annoying. At one point, she made it seem like she was done for good, but then got back in the cycle because she was in her feelings about something else regarding her current boyfriend at the time.

Thirdly, Hakeem can be annoying as an individual, but in the show he grew. She did not, and I partially blame bad writing. The issue with her not growing up had to do with him wanting something serious and she did not. Understandable, but then she would get jealous if he showed interest in another person (a few times it was to make her jealous, most times it was not).

Honestly, there were times when it should've been done, but the writers kept it going.

And that's done. Jesus christ..it felt like an eternity sitting through six seasons even though it's took me just under a month. When Empire aired on free to air TV, I ate it up. I don't know how I got into but I did. I got to season one's finale and hated that the TV station that I watched this show on stopped playing Empire. Which meant I stopped watching empire. What i didn't realise was Rhonda's death was season 1 finale, I thought it was season 2. What I learnt while watching Empire is that it drags on to the point it feels like flogging a dead horse. Hell, the last three season felt wasted and season six, seriously!? Having the Dubois' pop up than not use them!? The only thing I liked about season six was "The Oath" and having that song recap the past, it felt like a nice bow on top. Once it got to Patel,Eddie and Gisele that's when it really went south. Though half way through season 3, I was like "I want a Porsha and Becky spin off" . Than it felt like Becky got her own season in S6 and I ended hating Becky,which was quite sad. In season six, I felt like Porsha got pushed aside, which was heartbreaking cause when she's on screen, Porsha is awesome. Even though Empire did drag on, I gotta admit that I learnt a lot from this show. I learnt how much African Americans treat woman and try to hold them up or have the woman be blamed for a man's dirty work, I learnt that being African American and gay don't go hand in hand and I learnt that having a mental illness while being an African American can be perceived as bad. Not just that but how almost every episode showed what it was like to be an African American even with money, they can still be seen as a the "type" by cops. Even though it felt like a struggle for me to binge all six seasons, I did like it. It's still a good show even if I hated some of the seasons plus, Empire has an awesome sound track.
