On the Hunt
[The trail is thin and precarious – the cave’s location was clearly chosen partially to deter any nosy humans that might (for whatever bizarre human reason they have to investigate a place like this) wander through the area.
There are a few areas on the trail ahead where the earth has been recently disturbed – it’s well hidden, but a trained eye could pick out that something has been buried here.
The ship is far enough back in the cave that one can only see a faint glimmer from the trail, but it’s clearly there.
(Meanwhile, further inside – Amazonite saw movement outside in the canyon some minutes ago. It was brief, distant, probably nothing, but better safe than sorry. Her gem glows faintly as she flicks through the ship manual on a floating display.)]
Closed RP moved from THIS POST with empressamazonite to text.
Closer inspection had revealed that it was indeed a Homeworld shuttle. Mica’s target was most likely in the cave itself. It would be unwise to charge into the cave directly; that would give the target a home-field advantage.
If only there were some way to draw her out without giving her a chance to use the shuttle to escape...
A quick brainstorm, and Mica had a plan.
A few minutes later, Mica was hanging above the entrance to the cliff-side cave by her fingertips. Using her gem to summon her weapons, twin bladed-tonfas, she wedged the blade into the crack between the cliff’s wall, and a partially-uncovered boulder stuck into the wall. Using her tonfas as a set of crowbars, Mica began prying the boulder out of the wall. After a concerted effort, the boulder rolled out of the hole it occupied, fell the 75 meters to the floor of the canyon, and burst into dozens of smaller rocks, not covering the cave entrance, but preventing the shuttle from flying away.
Mica crouched on the edge of the hole the boulder had left in the cliff’s wall, waiting for her target to investigate the disturbance. There, she would pounce and take down her target before it even knew what had hit it.

Bounty Hunter AU
Mica crept silently through the jagged cliffs of the Sloeman Badlands. It had been two weeks since she had caught the transmission from Homeworld: A laboratory subject had escaped and was heading to Earth at latest trajectory, and a massive reward was available for her capture.
Her investigations had lead her to this location. Rural locals had reported seeing a strange ‘green meteoroid’ land in the area-- a clear indicator of a Homeworld shuttle landing.
However, the area was difficult to traverse, and there were innumerable caves, chasms, and hollows to hide in, so her quarry could not only hide herself, but the shuttle she had arrived in. That, coupled with the blistering heat, the sharp, unyielding rocks that comprised the terrain, and sand-strewn gales that blew through the crevices and canyons made this one of the most difficult hunts Mica had ever embarked on.
A glint of green at the bottom of a large canyon caught her eye. The unmistakable iridescent green of a Homeworld ship peeking out from the cover of a cave halfway up the canyon wall.
Got her.
Using her remarkable speed, Mica made her way down the opposing canyon wall to the small trail leading to the cave’s entrance.
Time to scout out the area...
empress-amazonite:
…what?
[She looked Citrine over, trying to determine what exactly she was playing at, and…no, she couldn’t sense any ulterior motives at all. She might actually besincere.]
Really.
There's a smile, then a soft, gentle laugh.
"Of course, I have no reason to lie to anyone."
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
"You’re a nice shade of blue.“
Yep, and even her expression was serious. She meant that.
