Behind the scenes with Joan Chen a.k.a. Empress Chabi in Kublai Khan's would-be Garden of Eden.

Each character in Marco Polo has a signature color: Empress Chabi is draped in royal purples and rich burgundy, Kublai Khan and Jingim are predominantly dressed in gold. Mei Lin's clothing reflects the soft greens and peach colors of the Song dynasty, and Kokachin wears blue and turquoise – she is the “Blue Princess” after all.
