After 19 Years... Your Reign is Over 💔 This will probably be the most heartbreaking things I've had to write, besides my father's eulogy, which I never was able to read. I can't even think right now, I've been awake all night... I've been trying to find the words all day. I’m currently an absolute mess. Empress Jazmine, I know you’re still here physically but, I know you're fading fast. How do you begin to process the loss is 19 years? How will I ever find another feline like you? You are the epitome of "cat", even worse in your advanced age. Most of your life we assumed you were hard of hearing, your selective hearing was just that good. Staying out all night hunting anything and everything, sleeping all day. You have outlived family, friends and other pets, we frequently joke that you're older than my niece who starts college in the fall. You have been with me since I was seven years old and I’ve been with you since you were six weeks old. I first met you in our backyard, long before the sunroom, middle school, Bear and even longer before Tiger and Hera. You were the first animal to teach me what true and unconditional love was. You’ve taught all of our dogs that cats are not to be trifled with, ruling the house with Iron Claws. You have always slept in my room, on my bed, on your own pillow, right by my head, and frequently on me, because obviously, Empress’ Choice. I am certain that I will always love you, I will constantly be looking for your bright green eyes in every other cat I meet... Which is not fair, you’re irreplaceable. Your coat and color alone was the envy of the neighborhood. You will always be my first love, you taught me how to love animals, you’ve turned me into the animal lover I am today.
