How to tie a lace one-armed - Video
Young RAE victim of drunken boating accident. I’m especially a fan of the way the arm sleeve is folded in there while she’s on the stand.
The boat owner was initially charged but he was proved to be swimming so they found who starte the boat but he got off to.
Some 60,000 men who fought in the Civil War returned home as amputees. And with a loss of limbs, came a crisis of manliness. How could these men support their families without the use of their natural arms and legs? Would their women still love them? Were they still complete men, even if they had parts of their body missing? These fears translated into prolific amounts of “empty sleeve” narratives -- poems, stories, songs, and artwork that glorified amputee veterans returning home from war.
