“I never loved you” dealers choice on ship
Note: I might as well get this dark prompt out of the way.
Empty Vows
"I never loved you." Adrien had said with such conviction to Marinette. That he himself new that he doesn't love her. And now how is Marinette faring?
Well, she's been better. This is possibly the most heartwrenching moment in her life that it's worse than the Lila situation.
It had been 3 years after their marriage, and now here they are. Adrien taking off his wedding band, and Marinette left in shock of it all.
"Why?" The question itself asked in a quiet hopeless way, it breaks Marinette's heart more to know how vulnerable she is. "Because, you were Ladybug. Ladybug was my everything, and now knowing, you aren't the ladybug I love anymore." Adrien said.
And now didn't that just hurt, Adrien loved her for a mask she wore and not for someone she is. She should have seen it coming, but she hadn't. But she won't let it affect her. She grabed her things and left. There was nothing that could be said to save any of this.
Few years later we see Marinette again. Running her own business in Gotham, that yet has to be robbed. She's doing well for herself. But tomorrow might not be so well, it's the anniversary of the day she divorced adrien.
But someone has other ideas. Bruce, Marinette's boyfriend is going to do everything to help make her smile.
"Hello, my dove," said a deep voice behind her. She would take this to her grave she did not jump. The chuckling man behind her is full of lies. "Hello, Chevalier noir. What brings you here?" She asked with a smile on her face.
"I'm here to make you a promise my dove. A promise to never make you cry, a promise to never let you be hurt. But a promise to have you smile, laugh, to love, and to just have you have joy." Bruce said sincerely, and Marinette is left in tears of joy, never being promised such things form her ex. "Will you marry me?" He asked. And Marinette screamed in joy. "Yes, a million time yes." She said tears streaming down her face, not of sadness, but of joy.
For the vows were not Empty
