     SORE LOSER, through and through. and a terrible winner, at that. a token is moved ambitiously across the board and all she can do is watch ; brows furrowed, arms crossed. yeah, she wasn’t winning this one. despite the fact that she’d been so overly confident, boasting, moments ago. it was embarrassing, really, though she was mostly stuck on the lost portion of it all. snapped out of her thoughts, consciously wiping the pout off of her face, eyes redirect to the ones of lou. ‘ mad ? why would i be mad ? ’ she laughs but it wasn’t really funny. she had that one in the bag. she did ! ‘ it’s a game, lou. ’ bold of her to say. ‘ just a bummer some people can’t play without cheating. ’ / @emptytracks

November air whisks at tangled hair, biting at flushed skin. It’s far too cold for rolled down windows and tattered clothing, though MJ has always walked to the beat of her own drum. Once January rolls around, with frosted pines and snowflakes melted by noon, she’ll reconsider. But … for now, she enjoyed the coolness nipping at every exposed inch and she enjoyed the company kept. Falling back in the leather seat, an arm kept resting through the car door, dark browns sought out the one beside her. ‘ When’s your birthday? ’ It is one of those things. Something she isn’t sure whether she should know or not. Their relation didn’t come with a handbook of do’s and don’t’s and she’s forced to discover the boundaries on her own.      they weren’t together anymore. they hadn’t been for almost a year. but still, she found herself offering up the role as his girlfriend when asked. and she stayed at the hospital whilst he was in surgery and the hours of unconsciousness after. she stayed, and she paced, and she drunk herself awake in caffeine. oliver didn’t worry. not about her next pay-check, not about bills piling up, and least of all about herself. but there she was … senselessly worried. the brunette could’ve gone home ; changed out of old clothing, taken a shower, a nap -- a shot, but she didn’t. she stayed and she worried. all until a hefty nurse notifies her of his awakening, all until she’s standing in the door frame; an appropriate distance from the hospital bed, as if she wasn’t sure of his reaction to her would be. because she wasn’t. ‘ … – how you doin’? ’ / @emptytracks

     his t-shirt hangs off her like a drape ; a small frame engulfed in fabric with thighs completely lost in its length. at home, she slept in the day’s outfit without jeans dusted by pavement and dirt. here, she insisted on raiding his closet. and she insisted on wearing his clothes. the blonde would argue she couldn’t sleep naked. it was too cold. though, both modesty and infatuation played a part in this decision. she hops onto the bed, flopping onto her back with legs lost in duvet. she doesn’t remember when it started, exactly. when it stopped being just exhaustion post sex and became this ; domestic, normal, something similar to an actual relationship. though, she knows she doesn’t mind. and still, space is never an option. she pulls him on top of her, arms wrapped around his neck and naked legs making room for his figure. a touch, however, one that is often welcomed, causes her to jump. ‘ ow ! ’ she doesn’t mean to react the way she does : openly, flinching. but it still hurts. her hip bone aches from home-made needles and old ink and she should’ve chosen a better remedy than a store-bought bandaid. his eyes drift and she’s quick to redirect his attention. ‘ don’t ! it’s NOTHING. ’ / @emptytracks
