“You have twice the legs, so you probably think you’d be twice as good as me.” Steven could feel healthy sheen of sweat beading on his temple. Dancing was quite the work out, but most of the time it was just fun. Steven slid around behind her, and around again before she could even turn around.

“But I’ve actually had tons of practice!”

Steven abandoned the identical t-shirts he’d been comparing in the mirror and turned to approach the person who’d just walked into the store. He’d seen tons of new faces at the mall today, but none that compelled more than a friendly wave.

But her—Steven just had to say it all out loud.

“Excuse me miss, but this—“ He gestured to her, breaking out into a smile. “Is a win! You’ve got like, amazing vibes! You’re a cat! You’re a unicorn! It’s all such everything I admire.”

In a way, it made him nostalgic for his youth. He might have even played with a unicorn cat lego brick toy back then. But that was all before life beat the heck out of him. Still, seeing her put a bit of that spark back in his step.

Not to Toot My Own Horn [Closed]

During one of Susie’s excursions through the city, she comes across an unusual item. To her, it resembles a blue traffic cone, or perhaps a drill or the tip of a spear?

When she picks it up to better inspect it, she observes that the object is made out of plastic. This wasn’t naturally occurring — that was clearly a given — but what could be its intended use?

As she looks it over, tilting it this way and that, she doesn’t yet notice the owner of said item, who may or may not be in a state of panic over what was clearly her missing horn.
