"Must have gotten into an argument or something. Only idea I got. The kid was fine last I saw him." Rennie says before she looks at Susie with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, I understand," Rennie says solemnly. "I do that plenty at Skullrender."

Susie decides not to press Reinite on the subject of science any further. She'll just have to find someone else to be her scientific protege.

"Good. I'm glad the kid's doing better. I swear, what's gotten into children these days...?" She wasn't so ill-mannered as a child, was she? (Then again, it's not like she attended many weddings as a teen.)

"That reminds me... I was going to tell you about that purple-haired vegetable thief. I don't know his name, but I do know he's committed acts of vandalism, petty theft, and rudeness," Susie says.

"I assume you excel at more violent disposals, but given that we're a family-oriented restaurant, I'd advise you to act with discretion. Just let me know if he antagonizes you, okay?"

"In fact, this is something you might know more about, since I think he uses magic to make his escapes! The last time I saw him, he disappeared in a puff of purple smoke, with not a smoke bomb in sight!"

"Oh it's uh... I mean, I can learn. I just can't, like, do the majyk that's, like, required to make shit like this AC stuff run, really. Or put it together, at least." Reinite sighs and puts her hands on her hips.

"Well, uh, first of all it was two teens - boys, I think. I don't really know why they started swinging steel - live steel -, and then one of the kids got stabbed 'cause they didn't guard it right. Had to hold his guardian back from jumping in 'fore they got stabbed, too."

There is absolutely no concern or qualm in her voice, really.

"Presumably the kid'll be fine, I think they had healing on site."

"It's not magic, either. Just applied science! I'll have to explain it to you later," she says. If something happens to Susie like what happened to her at Pandora Cafe, then she'll need someone to help run the shop!

"Oh, goodness... I hope they didn't get seriously hurt. A wedding shouldn't be a place for a fight!"

"If anything like that happens at the shop, I'm going to need you to control the situation. Understand?"

Memory or not, it looks like heavy labor as she did a few herself at her world, pretty much at a prefecture that is barricaded from the dead obviously. Well, better than doing nothing while finding a possible way out of this place, cute aside.

"Are there any specific things i should do around here? Just to be very sure." She's already stretching out, playing along on what Dedede wants to do with his rocket league tourney or something as Beatrix is just looking around the field of work, knowing this will be sometimes ugly but she'll do her best anyhow.

"Susie'll show you what to do," says King Dedede. "Go get it set up over at the Space Center." He's a little too busy to give her a tour, what with the upcoming tournament and all.

"We'll get right on it, Your Majesty!" Susie says reassuringly, then leads Beatrix back to the Warp Stars.

"Okay, Beatrix. This should be a fun event! Basically, all of the competitors will be running around the launch pad, collecting fuel cubes to power up their rockets. They have to hop in before the countdown is over, and the rocketeer who blasts off the highest... wins!"

"What we'll be doing is loading up the cannons with fuel cubes to fire all over the arena. And we'll throw in a few time bombs, of course. We have to keep things interesting, you know?"

"Honestly, you probably would be." Reinite says before she laughs. "Nah, not me. That's all Humans back home."

At the question of a particular person, the pirate shakes her head. "Nah, not recently. Only pointy-eared persons I've seen are that kid who got stabbed in that duel at Vanth's weddin', and Lorene."

She looks a Susie while crossing her arms over her chest. "Why? Need me to kick their ass for ya?"

"I don't think you need to let 'not being a human' stop you from learning about new technology. I certainly haven't!"

Susie's about to answer Reinite's question, then realizes what her employee just said.

"... Wait. Someone got stabbed at the wedding? That's awful! Whatever happened?!" she demands. Forget about stolen yams, this is way too important of a topic!

"I'll keep note of it." Rennie says before she laughs.

"Aye, all that and then some. I don't miss the climb up to the Crow's Nest." She tilts her head a little to the side. "Can't say I hate it. Still don't really understand this AC majyk, but can't argue with what works. I'm no Technomage." The pirate lass explains.

"At least business has been good."

When Kirby came to this place after seeing the flyer (and yummy pictures of ice cream, of course), they didn't expect to see one of their friends!

"Susie--"

Kirby blinks, cut off, expression turning neutral. For a moment, there's silence.

...Before they smile, oblivious to her surprise.

"I want to meet Twinkle☆ Popopo!" Kirby jumps in place. "Where are they?" His eyes sparkle, darting around for the elusive Popopo; though upon seeing the ice cream on display (plus Susie's own words jogging his memory of the other reason he was so excited to visit), Kirby's instantly distracted.

Rushing over, Kirby stands on his tip toes to look through the glass at the ice cream.

"Wow! It looks so tasty!" Kirby looks back to Susie. "Can I have some? Pleeease?"

It's a good thing that Kirby doesn't understand copyright infringement, Susie thinks to herself. Then again, it's not like they were offended by that Kirby printer machine, from what she recalls, or those vacant-looking Kirby lookalikes...

"Twinkle☆Popopo will be here on the 14th," Susie patiently informs him. "You can check today's date on your phone, which is the same thing you'll use to purchase ice cream today."

To show what she means, Susie takes out her Spirale-issued cell phone, which she's given a pink case with her company logo on the back. She points out the date, and unlocks her phone and shows off the Spirazon Wallet App.

"You should have received one of these when you arrived in this city. Now, because we're friends, I'll let you try a sample spoon, but you have to promise me to purchase your ice cream once you've decided your order, okay?"

She drums her fingers against the table and takes a sip of her coffee ice cream float. It's already halfway melted by now, leaving a mixture of caffeine and sugar.

"I'll have to think about it after I graduate. But there'll be so much that I have to handle after that... And isn't guest speaking something that retired businesspeople tend to do?" She doesn't plan on quitting yet!

"It just means more money on my end." repeating students means more money goes to him for every student, he is in the end more of a guest speaker with professor priviliage, not to mention one of the better looking professors out there.

Being a former veteran has benefits like disipline to one own body.

"Now now, don't be like that, what was the word they use...right right you are their seniors, or senpai as they say in some schools. You should be a shining role model that everyone should emulate."

Susie nods with a hum. "I suppose you're right. You could get more money out of failing students..."

"Still, I don't plan to fail any classes. I'm here to succeed, that's just good business sense!"

When he suggests that she should be a shining role model, Susie tilts her head to the side. She twirls one of her side bangs as she mulls over his words, not sure what to make of them.

"Hmm. I'm sure that I already qualify as a stellar example... What are you getting at here?"

"The cutthroat business world doesn't have room for quitters. You and I both already know this!"

In terms of prestige and power, few could come close to the man known as Balduran, a high-ranking member of the administrative staff. While Susie was just a graduate student in terms of academic achievement, most everyone knew she was the overachieving heiress of the technological superpower, the Haltmann Works Company.

That said, there had been some doubts recently about Susanna Haltmann's potential to lead. Both herself and members of the board were aware of her father's slow descent into dementia, and more and more executive decisions were being made through the Mother Computer program.

But that was neither here nor there. Right now, she had a job to do: convince the administrator to let her hire more student interns for her father's company!

"Thank you for agreeing to meet with me, Mr. Balduran. As you know, though I may be a student myself, I represent a much larger infrastructure of the world outside these hallowed halls."

"And I, for one, would like to see more of our bright young minds succeed in the workplace," she says. "I think you'd agree it's in everyone's best interest to promote our internship program, yes?"
