During the years of my service, I always fought for my brothers. I suppose I should've been fighting for the Republic, and perhaps at first I did, but I didn’t believe in that nonsense. It was my brothers that bled alongside me. I saw more of my brothers die as I laid down covering fire than I ever saw Republic citizens.
I only ever went to Coruscant once, near the end of the war. Even then, us clones only really spent time with each other; entire civilian buildings, nothing but clones. Civilians would come in from time to time and cling to the arm of the loudest or most scarred trooper they could find. But we were nothing more than a curiosity to them. An oddity, a story to go home and tell their friends about the time they bedded a clone.
