7Beef
Wow, wow and wow. I was blown away by 7Beef and can’t wait to go back. Here’s the rub, when you go, you don’t know what cuts of beef they are going to have. They use the whole cow and not all cuts are available each night -except a huge bone-in ribeye which feeds at least 6 people.
My meal was exceptional - here is an overview:
Oysters with green apple
Burnt Leeks with Brown Butter
7oz Zabuton Steak
The oysters were fresh and the acidity of the green apple was great, complemented with some bread and salted butter, it made me really hungry.
The burnt leeks could have been par-cooked a bit more as there were some chewy parts, but vegtables over open fire just create a great flavor profile that compliments the steak perfectly.
The steak - perfectly crusted and seasoned on the outside and pink, juicy and delicious on the inside. Finally someone who can cook a steak as good as I can ;)
The interior of this place, located by Squire park, just east of downtown, is open and airy - the building was obviously many things before. The kitchen and fireplace in plain view from each and every table. The team that did BaBar is behind this and it is a bit of a departure from their Vietnamese cuisine, but they execute it perfectly.
