Smartphones have only been around for a decade and with each new model that comes out each year, they keep evolving to do more, better, faster, and smarter. Here’s a list of what we hope smartphones will be able to do by 2020!
What do you hope smartphones could do?
1. Self-Charging Batteries
The fanciest smartphone would just be a fancy brick if it is out of battery, so we hope for a future where there’ll be no more charging cords, no more carrying around heavy portable battery packs, and no more running out of battery!
2. Unbreakable Screen
According to a 2015 survey by Motorola, 21% of global smartphone owners currently have a broken smartphone screen! Replacing a cracked screen is troublesome not to mention expensive. We sincerely hope engineers will figure out a way for smartphone screens to be unbreakable in the near future.
3. Bendable Screens
We don’t understand the point of a flexible, bendable smartphone screen, but many technology companies are already working on this technology. Perhaps bendable screens will make them less fragile or prone to cracking!
4. Waterproof
Next to cracking smartphone screens, dropping smartphones into water is probably the next most common accident among smartphone users everywhere. The new generations of smartphones that came out this year are pretty much splash-proof, but we hope for a day when all phones can swim free.
5. Free, Unlimited Cloud Storage
Our phones are constantly running out of storage space. This problem isn’t going away any time soon and we’re tired of moving our files onto SD cards or paying for cloud storage drives. So hopefully in the near future every phone will come with unlimited cloud storage!
A fun trivia: whenever we post a comment, write an email, take a photo, or simply by having our smartphones turned on, we are generating data into the world. The world currently produces 2.5 billion gigabytes (GB) more data every single day, according to IBM.
6. Ubiquitous Internet Connection
This one should be quite self-explanatory. The Internet is a wonderful thing, but less so when connection is spotty. We look forward to the day when whenever we go, there will be fast and stable Internet connection!
7. Augmented Reality
Augmented reality (AR) is already being used, to help smartphones interact more with our physical surroundings—like in Pokémon Go. Still, there is so much potential for creativity—in games, shopping, or finding information—when we can blend the digital world with our physical world.
8. Many Wearable Forms
Imagine the possibilities when we can wear our smartphones anywhere—beyond smart watches—our palms, on the back of our hands, or on our clothes!
9. No More Passcodes
Passcodes are diffult to remember, patterns are too easy to guess, and fingerprints sometimes fail to register. Perhaps eye scanning would be the next level for fast and reliable smartphone security!
10. No More SIM Cards
SIM card sizes seem to get smaller every time a new smartphone model comes out, and the sheer number of time we have lost our SIM cards over the years should be enough to make a case for getting rid of SIM cards altogether!

5 Latest Whatsapp Insider Tips & Tricks You Need To Know
1 billion people around the world use Whatsapp and almost 70% of people with a mobile phone in India use Whatsapp. This number is even higher in countries with higher mobile penetration rates!
So it is safe to say that Whatsapp has achieved “daily staple” status—with good reason—here are the latest Whatsapp insider tips & tricks that will make your texting life that much better!
1. Format your text
~text~ putting squiggle lines around your text will strike out your text
*text* putting asterisks around your text will bold your text
_text_ putting underscores around your text will italicize your text
2. Reply specifically to someone in a group chat
When you’re in a group chat, sometimes conversations get messy. Who is talking to whom? This is when you can type @ and a list of the participants in your group chat will appear. You can then select the person you want to direct your message to, for example @James or @Anna.
3. Reply to a specific message
You can also reply to a specific message whether you are talking in a group or one-on-one. Long tap on the message you want to refer to and a left-pointing “reply” arrow will appear at the top of your Whatsapp conversation. Click on that and your reply will automatically refer to that message. Pretty neat right?!
4. Use less data when you call
Everyone’s mobile data is always running out, unless you are a super heavy user and paid extra for an unlimited plan. Whatsapp realized that and came out with a setting that will lower the amount of data your Whatsapp calls use. Hooray we say!
5. Send things to yourself
Whatsapp allows you to send everything from contacts, photos, audio clips, location, and all kinds of other files, texting yourself here becomes an easy way to remember things or draft longer messages. The only thing you can’t do is call yourself through Whatsapp, we tried.
Of course, for information other people have sent you, you can put a star on them to keep track.

Which apps do you use most often? They can reveal surprising insights about your personality!
Snapchat - Most Outgoing
You live life in the moment, or should we say, Snapchat “Moments”. You fully embrace the messiness of life and find a sense of contentment in the day-to-day mundane yet glorious moments. However, you may be a bit of an oversharer at times, and you know it!
Facebook - Outgoing
You have a lot of friends or, should we say, acquaintances that you like to keep up with. You may be extremely extroverted, have a competitive streak, have a Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO), are nostalgic for old times, or you may be a people pleaser somewhere deep inside.
Instagram - Friendly Yet Somewhat Introverted
You enjoy the feeling of having your life together, your ducks in a row. You care about your reputation, your image, and how others view you. You may have an artistic flare, an eye for colors and compositions, and a developed sense of appreciation for the art of subtlety and poetry.
Whatsapp, LINE, WeChat, Facebook Messenger - The Hustler
You’re a hustler and your motto is “Get sh*t done!” You are on the go all the time, running errands, making plans. You are focused and driven when you need to be, and you impress yourself with your productivity sometimes.
Kindle, News & Reading Apps - The Intellectual Sophisticate
You are curious and you have thoughts and opinions, a lot them. You enjoy thinking deeply and are perfectly comfortable being alone at a café. You pride yourself in being an intellectual and have been described as “interesting” at least twice in your life.
Nike+ & Exercise Apps - A Happy Ray of Sunshine
You are usually a fire ball of positive energy! You not only have your life together, you enjoy motivating and helping others do the same! You, more than others you know, are able to think positively even when life has got you down. Don’t forget to give yourself a break sometimes though!
YouTube - Entertain Me
There’s something lazy about you, isn’t there? There is a good chance you enjoy movies and TV shows as well. There’s nothing wrong with that, unless you’re watching 1000 cat videos a day non-stop...
Games - Secretly Nerdy & Proud
You have been described as "impatient” and you have a discreet nerdy side to you that only those close to you know. You enjoy a challenge and don’t mind working hard for something that is worth it and fun. Your definition of fun is definitely different than your friends of the sunshine-loving outdoors type!

Isn’t life so much easier when you can login to a new app with your existing Facebook account? Instead of creating and remembering a new username, password, and verifying your email address, logging in with Facebook is one step and you’re all set.
However, doing this has a trade-off you should know about.
Facebook Knows Even More About You
Logging in to a new app via Facebook means that personal information Facebook has of you is now linked up and share with your newly downloaded app. Vice versa, personal information that your new app might collect about you—depending on what app it is—can be shared with Facebook. In other words, more companies now know a lot more about you.
However, often when you login with Facebook, the option to “Edit the info you provide” will appear. Do look through this and see if you are okay with what you are sharing with the new app.
If Facebook Is Hacked, Your Other Accounts Are At Risk Too
The more apps you have logged into using your Facebook account, the more your personal data would be at risk if Facebook’s database were hacked one day.
Of course, Facebook is highly aware of this risk and has security measures in place to prevent hacks of its user information.
Making An Informed Decision
Ultimately, it is up to you to weigh whether the risk is worth the convenience and personalization that logging in through Facebook provides you in your experience when using new apps.
