He’s already so tall that with a child, he may very well seem like a giant. The recon member cocked his head to the side as his eyes flickered down to her, noting that the little girl wasn’t someone he knew. Then again, how many people did Chondrus know in the region, let alone this world? 

Not a lot. 

So he knelt down in a slow manner, resting a hand on his knee while his other sat atop it. “I am,” he answered. Chondrus brushed back a stray lock of pink, only to return the hand to his knee, “Do you know a lot about space or space travel?”

Shoron sits next to Chumby, and plays on their brand new switch. They've got a shiny new gold septum ring, which catches the light in a way their other all acrylic piercings don't.

Chondrus looks over to the smaller child, noting that something was...new about them. It isn’t just the switch that occupies their attention, but rather a piercing that glimmers in the light. He leans over, tilting his head to the side as he notes, “The device in your hands looks unusual, Shoron. May I ask what it is?” He wants to bring up the ring, but it seems like the electronic is an easier topic to go off of.

Shoron’s growlithe barrels across the grass to say hello to Chondrus. Shoron wasn’t far behind her, their schoolbag bouncing on their shoulders and the extra straps of their pants whipping behind them. “Baby!” They pant when they catch up, trying to stop the Pokémon from jumping. “Running off is bad, isn’t it! No, no jumping. Baby! ‘Ello Chums.”

He forgot that ‘baby’ wasn’t just an endearing term. Feeling the full force of the excited Growlithe against his chest, Chondrus wheezed and sat up above the gentle wisps of grass. Joltik scurried from his bicep to his head, while Rockruff popped its head up and yipped at the canine pokemon. Elgyem, however, hovered nearby unfazed; it would take more than Baby to elicit a response. 

“Hello there, Shoron. I see that you and Baby were… in the area. What had brought you up here?” Distracting himself from the warmth radiating against his skin, he reached over to tentatively pet Baby’s back.

Burgh dances to disco music in your inbox

Chondrus’ head faintly bobbed to the beat and wrapped his arm around his side. He hasn’t danced before, nor was he willing to make a fool of himself with robotic movements. The lieutenant settled with studying Burgh’s fluid dance moves.

After taking the shot from said Doctor (one who certainly was close to the recon agent), Chondrus downed the shot without any words. It was evident that his gift recipients had come to light, hm? “I have,” he confessed, wiping his lip with the back of his hand, adam’s apple bobbing after such a strong taste.

Shoron made snacks! Super spicy hot snacks! They offer to share them and the nice cool raita and naan they made to go with.

What’s this? 

Chondrus wasn’t expecting snacks, let alone the child’s presence. He took the food with a canted head, eyes shifting from the homemade snacks to the chef themself, “I appreciate the gesture, Shoron. What can I do to repay you?” Such a gesture couldn’t go unrewarded. He was able to cook something up for them, or perhaps make a small carving of the child’s fire type pokemon.

He was at the Pokemon Center yet again, Rockruff at his side and his small Elgyem in his arms, clearly battered and bruised from a tough fight. Had it not been for Chondrus’ determination, they wouldn’t need to be here in the first place. 

Guilt ravished at his chest, spreading through the male’s body until the pokemon quivered in his arms. It took one more look to notice Elgyem wasn’t moving, but rather, his arms. 

Chondrus carefully laid the creature on the pristine desk, ruddy eyes looking at the Nurse Joy, “Please help them, I may have overcalculated how much they could handle.” His tone was warbled, yet he managed to mellow out by the end of his rehearsed plea. Elgyem was whisked away to be treated, leaving Chondrus outside with his puppy pokemon at his feet. A fellow head of pink hair caught the corner of his eye and he then felt the budding warmth in his hand. “I,” he had begun, silencing himself as he wordlessly squeezed Toku’s hand, fingers wrapping around the others.

"Chondrus, are you alright?" - reconnaissance-for-the-light

“No. Not quite,” the lulled response left parted lips and a sigh followed. He ran a hand upon his weary face, cradling the cool skin and the slight bags under his unfocused, loose gaze. He was not bleeding or suffering from broken bones, nursing a broken heart nor dying of a cancer.

Chondrus was existing, but losing sleep and an appetite in the process. How long had it been since he had a proper meal? Perhaps a day or two, given his stomach had long since stopped growling or voicing complaints. It instead pulsed with pain, riddling his abdomen with a nauseating sensation. “Why do you ask, commander?”
