10 Aromantic Nonamorous Things That Suck in an Amatonormative World
1. Having to plan in advance when you want to do something like see a movie, go to a bar, etc. with someone.
2. Not having anyone to help when your sick.
3. Not having anyone to help you with 2 person chores. For example, flipping the mattress or moving furniture.
4. Having no one in your life who you can reasonably expect to attend boring work parties, friend’s weddings, anniversary parties etc. with you.
5. Coming home and having no one to tell about your day, whether good or bad.
6. Having a big problem, reaching out to the people closest to you and having to wait for a response or hope they’ll actually answer their phone.
7. Cooking for 1 when most recipes are designed for 2 or more, especially if it’s something new and you’re not sure you’ll like it.
8. Deals on products and events that are only a deal if you’re bringing or shopping for a family of 4 or more, aka bulk pricing.
9. Eating out alone and being sat at the tiniest table in a corner, the bar or a table in the middle of the room when all you want is a booth.
10. Knowing most of this would cease to be a problem if single people were celebrated and respected like partnered people are.
