Rhino 2023
The last of his kind. (by Ian Lumsden)
“It is estimated there is less than 40 Southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallabies left in the wild in Australia. This one is part of a captive breeding program at Tidbinbiulla in the ACt that has bred 72 over the past few years and released 26 into the wild.”
THE FLORIDA PANTHER. When The Universe needs to get a message to me, it has to send a non-human animal to deliver it. After my accident in 2017, a month or so into recovery, a big male lion appeared in my dream and stood up and paced regally in front of me. I remember his raw power and the feeling of him trying to ensure that I understood. I recall coming out of the dream with "the lion will rise." Within days, and unbeknownst to each other initially, a dear friend of mine had a dream, with a lion "whispering" to me. She said I clearly understood what he was saying. Then she dreamed of a black panther encircling me, protecting me. As some of you may know, I did rise out of that wheelchair, and within less than 2 years, I found myself in Africa, having developed a new love for big cats. Yesterday, I spent hours trying to shoot frames of a Florida Panther, critically endangered. I hope to share these in the coming months. May you each be blessed and happy!

These adorable guys cuddling up together were impossible to resist photographing. Needa get some pictures of their babies one of these days but man do they move fast!
The Bumblebee Bat
Hi, I’m Kitti! I’m named after my founding father Kitti Thonglongya. He and his partner John E. Hill discovered and named me Kitti’s Hog Nosed Bat in 1974. Much later compared to my brothers and sisters of our Chiroptera family.
Although, people usually refer me as the Bumblebee Bat, because of my size. That’s right, I can fit in the palms of your hands! I’m the world’s smallest bat and arguably the world’s smallest mammal. Don’t bring it up to my arch-nemesis, the Pygmy Shrew though. He calls me fat just because he weighs less.
You cannot find me everywhere and anywhere. I live in some parts of Thailand and Myanmar. I enjoy roosting deep inside these beautiful Limestone caves where I can hear the streaming of a river nearby. I am, however, extremely shy and I prefer not to be disturbed. You can, if you’re lucky, find me feasting on delicious insects in the evenings and at dawn. Bad weather annoys me most times, I prefer less wind and no rain.
You may not know this, but I’m also considered vulnerable, which means I’m endangered and on the brink of extinction. Alas, there is not much any of you can do. Feel free to not visit me, as I said earlier, I am quite shy.
